SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) Another season is at hand for Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, and year No. 39 on the bench at his alma mater promises to be a challenge.
The Orange are ranked No. 23 as they prepare to meet Kennesaw State on Friday night in the Carrier Dome in the first round of the 2K Sports Classic.
Boeheim has to figure out a way to replace the offense generated last year by forwards C.J. Fair and Jerami Grant and point guard Tyler Ennis, the top three scorers on the team. They combined to average 40.7 points on a team that averaged 68, and all three have departed.
That's the biggest offensive void Boeheim has faced in his Hall of Fame career.
