Bobby Hurley is a serious candidate for the Arizona State head coaching job, according to a report.

CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish says Hurley is in strong consideration for the position, which became vacant after the school fired Herb Sendek last month after nine seasons on the job.

Parrish says Hurley might even have a deal in place with the Sun Devils despite being on vacation at the moment.

Hurley, 43, has been the head coach at Buffalo the past two seasons and led the Bulls to the NCAA Tournament last month. This has been his only head coaching experience, though he did assist on his brother’s staff at Wagner and Rhode Island.

Hurley was also a candidate at DePaul, but they re-hired Dave Leitao after Hurley turned them down. Duke assistant Jeff Capel turned down the Sun Devils earlier this week.
