Jimmy Gray hit a layup with five seconds left to play, giving Binghamton a 70-69 victory over Manhattan on Saturday.

The Bearcats (2-6) led 68-62 with 2:45 left to play, but five straight points from George Beamon and a two-point jumper from Kidani Brutus gave the Jaspers a 69-68 lead with 42 seconds remaining.

Gray's game-winning jumper came 37 seconds later and was his only basket of the game.

The Jaspers (2-8) led 44-39 at halftime and by as many as eight, 53-45, with 13:36 remaining in the game. Manhattan was just 6 for 18 from the field (33.3 percent) the rest of the way.

Beamon led the Jaspers with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Demetrius Jemison and Michael Alvarado added 13 each.

Mahamoud Jabbi scored 20 and grabbed six rebounds to lead the way for Binghamton. Moussa Camara came off the bench to score 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from 3-point range.
