Bethune-Cookman stuns Stetson 96-94 in OT

DELAND, Fla. (AP) Jordan Potts had eight of his 27 points in the final 12 seconds of overtime when Bethune-Cookman pulled in front for a 96-94 win over Stetson in a nonconference game on Monday night.

Potts gave the Wildcats (12-16) the lead at 92-91 with a 4-point play with 12 seconds to go. Stetson's Derick Newton was called for an illegal screen, the Hatters received a technical foul for their objections and Potts made the next four free throws to push the lead to five with six seconds left.

Stetson (9-21) blew the 13-point lead it built during the first half. The Hatters led from the opening minutes until the Wildcats rallied to their largest lead at 83-78 late in the second half. Stetson battled back with Grant Lozoya's 3-pointer at the buzzer forcing overtime.

Mario Moody added 17 points for Bethune-Cookman.

Newton had 19 points with 11 rebounds, and Brian Pegg added 18 points with 13 rebounds for Stetson.
