Bethune-Cookman 81, Hampton 72
Adrien Coleman led six players in double figures with 16 points as Bethune-Cookman beat Hampton 81-72 Friday night in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference semifinals.
Javoris Bryant had 15, Ricky Johnson 12, Kevin Dukes and Paul Scotland 11, and Garrius Holloman added 10 for the Wildcats (18-16) who shot 49 percent (25 of 51) from the field.
Hampton scored the game's first seven points and pushed its lead to 20-9 behind a Jasper Williams 3-pointer with 11:10 left in the first half. Bethune-Cookman, however, used a 30-11 run over the final 10 minutes of the half to take a 39-31 lead into intermission.
The Wildcats opened the second half with six unanswered points and took a 17-point lead, 55-38, when Kevin Dukes connected on a 3-pointer with 12:11 remaining.
Hampton cut the deficit to 69-62 with 2:13 left but couldn't complete the rally.
Darrion Pellum led Hampton (12-21) with 24 points.
