ATHENS, Ohio (AP) Craig Bradshaw shot a career-high 42 points - including the game-winning layup with a second to play - to lead Belmont to an 83-81 victory over Ohio on Saturday night.

Bradshaw's total is also a Belmont NCAA Division 1 record. He did it hitting 14 of 22 from the field, 6 of 6 from the line and 8 of 12 from 3-point range. Nick Smith added 15 points for the Bruins (6-1) and Evan Bradds chipped in with 10.

Belmont jumped to a 13-4 start and led through most of the first half. Ohio briefly took a 36-35 lead with four minutes remaining in the period after a 10-0 run capped by an Antonio Campbell 3-pointer before the Bruins recovered to lead 44-41 at the break.

In the second period, the Bobcats (2-2) battled to a 65-62 lead with 6:44 left. But the Bruins rallied back again with Smith and Bradshaw combining for four 3-pointers and Bradshaw driving for the winner.
