Scott Saunders had 18 points to lead Belmont, which put 11 different players on the score sheet in a 94-55 rout of Austin Peay on Monday night.

Drew Hanlen and Mick Hedgepeth scored 13 points apiece for the Bruins (18-7), and Blake Jenkins added 12. Belmont extended its winning streak to five games and stayed within a half-game of Atlantic Sun first-place team Mercer, which they beat on Dec. 3. The two front-running schools meet again in the regular-season finale on Feb. 25.

It wasn't really a contest on this night, though, as the Bruins opened on a 26-8 run and led by 21 points at the break. They cruised by the Governors in the second half, too, outscoring them 48-30 to seal it.

Josh Terry finished with 13 points to lead Austin Peay (9-17) of the Ohio Valley Conference. The Governors have lost three straight games.
