Ball State rallies to beat Western Michigan 75-71 in OT

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) Jeremie Tyler scored five of his 19 points in overtime, and Franko House had a career-high nine assists as Ball State rallied from a nine-point deficit and beat Western Michigan 75-71 on Saturday.

Ball State (15-8, 6-4 Mid-American Conference), which hit 15 3-pointers, pulled into a first-place tie with Central Michigan atop the West Division standings.

The Broncos never trailed in the second half unit House made a 3 to put the Cardinals up 56-55. It was tied at 59, yet House missed a layup and a jumper on the last possession to force overtime.

Tyler, who made five 3-pointers, hit a 3 and two free throws to help the Cardinals take a 71-66 lead. Thomas Wilder made a pair of free throws, and then a 3-pointer with six seconds left to get Western Michigan within two at 73-71. Francis Kiapway sank two free throws to seal it.

Wilder had 23 points for the Broncos (9-14, 3-7).
