Brandon Lampley scored 11 points and Ball State shot 40 percent from the field to beat Central Michigan 53-44 Wednesday night in the Mid-American Conference. Eight of nine Cardinals scored, though Lampley was the only Ball State player in double figures. The Cardinals (13-13, 7-6) scored 13 points off the bench and 22 in the paint. Robbie Harman had 23 points to lead Central Michigan (9-17, 5-8), and one of only four Chippewas who scored. Central Michigan shot 36 percent from the field, including 4 of 11 3-pointers. Ball State led 25-14 at the break. The game included six ties and one lead change. The Cardinals' biggest lead was by 12 with 18:11 left in the second half.
