TyShwan Edmondson scored 23 points and Austin Peay dominated the boards to overcome a poor shooting night and rally past Youngstown State 71-68 on Saturday night, snapping a five-game losing streak.

The Governors (10-19) had a 51-32 rebounding advantage. They grabbed 27 offensive boards and scored 29 second-chance points despite 33-percent shooting (22 of 66) in the Bracket Busters game.

The Penguins (14-13), of the Horizon League, led by 10 points early and 47-40 with 13:44 remaining. The Governors, of the Ohio Valley Conference, then went on a 20-7 run to lead by six with 5:54 left.

Youngstown State got within a point twice in the last 19 seconds, but Austin Peay hit 5 of 6 free throws to seal it.

Melvin Baker and John Fraley pulled down 13 rebounds apiece for the Governors.

Kendrick Perry scored 20 points, hitting four treys as the Penguins made 13 of 29 3-pointers.
