Brendon Knox scored a career-high 18 points off the bench to lead Auburn to a 94-78 win against Alabama State on Tuesday night.

DeWayne Reed added 15 points and Lucas Hargrove had 14 for the Tigers (6-6), while Tay Waller chipped in 13.

Auburn pulled away in the first half with an 11-2 run and led by as many as 16 points with 5:10 to go before halftime.

Reed hit a basket as time expired to give the Tigers a 46-33 halftime lead.

The Hornets (2-8) stayed in the game in the first half thanks to 12 offensive rebounds and 10 second-chance points to none for the Tigers.

Menji Mundadi, Alabama State's leading scorer, finished with 15 points after getting into early foul trouble. Mundadi scored nine points in the second half. Tramaine Butler added 14 points for the Hornets.
