Army nails 14 3-pointers, routs Coast Guard 93-48
WEST POINT, N.Y. (AP) Nathan Dodge scored 20 points and hit five of Army's 14 3-pointers in a 93-48 rout over the U.S. Coast Guard on Sunday.
Luke Morrison also hit five from deep to finish with 15 points for the Black Knights, who are 9-2 for the first time since the 2009-10 season. Tanner Plomb added 15 points, Dylan Cox had 12 and Kevin Ferguson 10 with six rebounds.
Army shot 52.2 percent from the field, forced 20 turnovers and outrebounded the Bears 41-25. The Black Knights are now 17-0 all-time against the Coast Guard and head into Patriot League play on a three-game winning streak.
The Bears were 22 of 46 overall (47.8 percent), but hit just two 3-pointers and couldn't keep pace with Army behind the arc. Kevin Alvarez paced the Cadets with 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting along with eight rebounds.
