Arkansas-Little Rock stops South Alabama 82-68

Solomon Bozeman scored 28 points and Arkansas-Little Rock defeated South Alabama 82-68 on Saturday night in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament.

The Trojans (16-16) advance to play Arkansas State (17-14), the No. 1 seed from the West Division, in the quarterfinals on Sunday at Summit Arena.

Bozeman made 8 of 15 shots and was 10 of 11 from the free-throw line. Dayton Guy added nine points and Matt Mouzy and Alex Garcia-Mendoza had eight each for the Trojans.

Tim Williams led the Jaguars (12-15) with 16 points and Martino Brock scored 14. He was 4 of 4 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Arkansas-Little Rock built its lead early, jumping out to a 35-18 advantage and were up 39-28 at the half. South Alabama got as close as 10 points in the second half but fell behind by as many as 20 late in the game.
