Arizona 82, Southern Cal 73
Derrick Williams scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half and made all six of his shot attempts despite a heavy wrap on his shooting hand, helping Arizona run past Southern California 82-73 Saturday night.
Williams had his right pinky buried in a layer of gauze after banging it against UCLA on Thursday and fought foul trouble early in both halves. Neither seemed to bother the sophomore star, who hit all three of his 3-point attempts and was 5 for 8 on free throws.
Lamont Jones added 17 points and Arizona (18-4, 7-2 Pac-10) shot 61 percent for its best start since 2004-05.
USC (12-10, 4-5) never had much of a chance to complete its first road sweep of the Arizona schools in 26 years, struggling to stop the Wildcats defensively while falling behind by 20. Nikola Vucevic had 18 points and Donte Smith added 14 for the Trojans.
