Andujar powers Manhattan past Iona 80-77 in OT
RIVERDALE, N.Y. (AP) Emmy Andujar had a career-high 28 points with key plays at the end of regulation and during overtime to power Manhattan past Iona 80-77 on Friday night.
With 3:32 left in overtime and the score tied at 73, Andujar stole a crosscourt pass and took it all the way for a three-point play, giving Manhattan (21-7, 14-5 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) the lead for good.
The teams traded baskets, and then Andujar scored on a baseline drive with 22 seconds left to put the Jaspers up 80-75 with 22 seconds left. He also forced overtime with a block of Tre Bowman's driving layup with 6 seconds left in regulation.
With 13 second-half points and 23 overall, Bowman helped Iona (19-9, 16-3) storm back into contention.
A.J. English made a jumper with 5:48 to play to give the Gaels a 65-63 lead, their first since at 24-23 in the first half.
