Allen with 25 points as Richmond beats Duquesne 83-67

PITTSBURGH (AP) Terry Allen scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Richmond beat Duquesne 83-67 on Saturday, snapping a three-game slide.

T.J. Cline added 23 points, five rebounds and seven assists and ShawnDre' Jones added 13 points for the Spiders (15-13, 7-9 Atlantic 10 Conference) who hit 53 percent from the field overall and 74 percent from the free throw line.

Richmond went 15-8 to start and a Jones 3-pointer stretched it to 40-30 with 2:53 to go in the half.

In the second period, Duquesne's Michah Mason cut the Richmond lead to five, 47-42, on a 3-pointer with 16:04 to play. The Spiders responded with a 12-4 run capped by a Cline jumper to take a 59-46 lead with 9:39 remaining and they led by double digits the rest of the way.

Derrick Colter scored 20 points for the Dukes (15-14, 5-11) who have lost seven straight.
