Logan Aronhalt scored 19 points and Mike Black had 18 as Albany (N.Y.) defeated Maryland-Baltimore County 83-67 on Wednesday night for its third consecutive win.

The Great Danes (15-15, 8-7 America East Conference) shot a season-best 54.5 percent from the field (30 of 55).

Albany made 10 of its first 16 field-goal attempts en route to a 28-8 lead midway through the period.

The Retrievers (5-24, 4-12) closed the gap to 41-28 on Justin Fry's left-hander in the lane, but Albany's Billy Allen buried a 3-pointer from the right wing for a 44-28 halftime lead.

After the Great Danes built a 21-point cushion, at 53-32 early in the final period, Chris De La Rosa, who paced UMBC with 25 points, hit back-to-back long-range jumpers in an 8-0 run.

Albany answered with an 8-1 spurt to pull away.

Tim Ambrose added 17 points for the Great Danes and Luke Devlin chipped in 12.
