Phillip Crawford scored 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead Alabama State over Reinhardt 78-72 on Thursday night.

Kenderek Washington also had 21 points for the Hornets, who snapped a three-game losing streak and far exceeded their season average of 54.6 points per game. Alabama State (3-9) outrebounded the Eagles 48-35.

The Hornets shot 41.1 percent from the field (23 of 56) as Jeff Middlebrooks dished out 11 assists. Ivory White added 14 points for the Hornets, who led 40-26 at halftime.

Despite the win, Alabama State extended its streak of giving up 70 or more points a game to five of its last six contests.

David Lawson led the Eagles, of the NAIA, who counted the game as an exhibition, with 22 points. Tyler Blackwell added 12 points and Tareek Roach 11 for Reinhardt, which shot 40.9 percent from the field (27 of 66).
