Alabama A&M beats Arkansas-Pine Bluff 71-66 behind West

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) Nicholas West scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Alabama A&M beat Arkansas-Pine Bluff 71-66 on Saturday night.

Ladarius Tabb scored 18 points with three 3-pointers for the Bulldogs (8-11, 3-6 Southwestern Athletic Conference), who shot 43 percent from the field and led 37-36 at halftime.

The Golden Lions rallied to a 49-43 lead on JoVaughn Love's 3-pointer with 13:21 left in the game, but the Bulldogs closed and led 61-60 on a free throw by West then pulled ahead by five after Tabb's jumper with 3:07 to go.

Love pulled the Golden Lions within 67-64 with a free throw, but Arkansas-Pine Bluff got no closer. West dunked and Tyler Davis scored two free throws to ice it for the Bulldogs.

Marquis Cunningham led the Golden Lions (5-19, 3-7) with 18 points and eight rebounds and Love added 17 points.
