Bo Amusa scored 17 points and Maurice Kemp had his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds as Alabama A&M rallied to beat Alcorn State 72-60 on Monday night.

Cornelius Hester added 15 points and Evan Hilton had 12 for the Bulldogs, who swept the season series.

Alabama A&M (9-12, 6-7 Southwestern Athletic Conference) trailed 31-24 with 5:33 left in the first half and 36-35 at halftime.

The Bulldogs tied the game at 42, then used an 8-1 run to pull away. The Braves cut the deficit to four points on two occasions, the last at 55-51, but Hilton hit a free throw and a jumper and Jabari Deshields made a foul shot to rebuild the cushion.

Tony Eackles led Alcorn State (1-27, 1-14) with 20 points.

Alabama A&M had a 42-28 rebounding edge, but the Braves were the better field goal shooters, 22-for-50 (44 percent) to 23-for-58 (39.7 percent).
