''I thought we played in spurts that were very good, and spurts that were not so good,'' Alabama coach Anthony Grant said. ''So we've got to learn to play for 40 minutes. Our defense triggered (the good spurts). Anytime you get stops in the half court or from the press, it gets us in transition. We were able to get in a rhythm and get some shots to fall.''
Grant also liked the balanced scoring and teamwork displayed by his team.
''I thought we could have a team that would have a balanced attack,'' Grant said. ''That's going to be critical for us. And 19 assists - I love the level of unselfishness that our team is playing with. I thought we had moments tonight that our guys could see the benefits of the work that they put in on a daily basis.''
