Akron hot from 3-point range, tops Bowling Green, 83-68

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) Antino Jackson scored 20 points by hitting 6 of 8 from 3-point range and Akron captured its seventh-straight victory to maintain its lead in the Mid-American Conference East Division, knocking off Bowling Green 83-68 Tuesday night.

The Zips were 16 of 32 from deep and had 16 assists on 28 made baskets.

Bowling Green built an early 11-point lead on Wesley Alcegaire's free throw that made it 20-9 with 12:06 left in the first half. But the Zips caught fire, fueled by five 3s from Jackson, and sprinted into halftime with a 41-32 advantage.

Akron (20-4, 9-2) now holds a two-game lead in the East Division over Kent State and Buffalo.

Reggie McAdams and Isaiah Johnson scored 15 apiece for Akron. McAdams hit 5 of 11 from 3-point range.

Spencer Parker scored 23 points for Bowling Green (13-11, 4-7).
