Akron beats Eastern Michigan 92-88 for 8th win at home

AKRON, Ohio (AP) Reggie McAdams made a career-high seven 3-pointers and scored 28 points, and Akron beat Eastern Michigan 92-88 on Tuesday night for its eighth straight win at home.

The Zips made 13 of 26 3-pointers, including back-to-back makes by McAdams with under two minutes left for a 85-76 lead. Akron also hit 5 of 6 free throws in the final 14 seconds to seal it.

Isaiah Johnson added 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Akron (14-4, 3-2 Mid-American). Johnson hit 12 of 13 free throws as the Zips made 27 of 36 (75 percent) compared with 19 of 27 for Eastern Michigan.

McAdams made a 3-pointer on three straight Akron possessions to open the second half for a 43-42 lead. Noah Robotham and Jake Kretzer added 3s as the Zips' first five field goals after halftime were from distance.

Willie Mangum IV led Eastern Michigan (10-8, 2-3) with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting.
