Ahmed scores 18, leads Bakersfield past Idaho 68-45

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) Ay Ahmed scored 18 points for the second straight game and Damiyne Durham added 16 more by knocking down 5 of 10 attempts from beyond the arc as Cal State Bakersfield held off Idaho for a 68-45 victory Tuesday night.

The Roadrunners never trailed in posting their second win to start the season and have yet to trail at any point in their opening two games.

CS Bakersfield shot 41.2 percent from the field (21 of 51) and was even sharper from long range, knocking down 9 of 18 attempts from beyond the arc.

Victor Sanders scored 10 points to lead Idaho but was the lone shooter to reach double figures and the Vandals fell to 1-1.

Idaho shot 30 percent from the field, but attempted just 40 shots.

The Roadrunners face Fresno Pacific Friday. Idaho returns home to face Division III Linfield.
