Adam Smith, ACC's top 3-point shooter, heading to Georgia Tech
Adam Smith is returning home to play his final year at Georgia Tech after leading Virginia Tech in scoring last season.
The 6-foot-1 guard was the top 3-point shooter in the Atlantic Coast Conference (42.4 percent) and paced the Hokies with 13.4 points a game.
Smith is set to receive his bachelor's degree in communications from Virginia Tech this weekend and therefore can play for the Yellow Jackets without sitting out a season.
A native of suburban Atlanta, Smith started his college career at UNC-Wilmington before transferring to Virginia Tech.
Now he heads to another ACC school, providing a much-needed offensive boost for Georgia Tech coach Brian Gregory and his struggling program.
Gregory says Smith's shooting and play-making skills will have "an immediate impact on our team."
