There was a time where we thought that the boxing career of the great Manny Pacquiao was over and done with. Well, we would come to find out that is not the case at all, as he will be stepping into the ring once again on Saturday evening.
Pacquiao announced a few months ago that he would not be sticking to the retirement plan after all, and instead would be coming back to the ring in November. Well, November is here, and his opponent is a champion in his own right in the hard-punching Jessie Vargas.
There are some that aren’t too excited to see this fight take place, as some folks even believed that a rematch with Floyd Mayweather could even be in the cards. Even though the first fight between the two was a complete disaster, it was still an event that some people wanted to see happen nonetheless, as confusing as that may sound.
But the fact of the matter is that no matter what point of his career he’s in, there will always be a certain amount of excitement when Pacquiao steps into the ring to fight. He’s most certainly one of the best that this generation has to offer, and he’s out to prove that the loss to Mayweather last year is not how he will be defined when people ultimately think of the great career that he has had.
Saturday night when he takes on Jessie Vargas, he will be out to show everyone that he’s ready to be looked at as great again.
