Matchday 30 highlights between Wolfsburg and FC Augsburg.

NARRATOR: Wolfsburg against Augsburg under the lights of the Volkswagen Arena. The Wolves two points above the relegation playoff, and they were buoyed by their win at Freiburg last time out, led by Daniel Didavi's brace. It was Bruno Labbadia's first winning charge. In a first half of very few chances, Wolfsburg were the first to call either keeper into action. Landry Dimata's header seemingly no trouble for Marwin Hitz, but the former Wolfsburg keeper had to react to see it over the top of his crossbar. Dimata still to score in the Bundesliga. Hitz certainly taking no chances here.

In tricky conditions, Augsburg were happy to sit and be compact in coach Manuel Baum's 50th Bundesliga game in charge. And 10 minutes before halftime, Wolfsburg continued to press for the opener. Didavi's effort here really typifying the first half for the home. Wolfsburg hadn't won at home since December. Not too much to cheer about for Wolfsburg's supporters.

The second half was far more action packed, including a second yellow card for the Czech midfielder Jan Moravek for Augsburg, in for the injured skipper, Daniel Baier. What a chance for the home side now, but it would be the visitors who would come the closest to breaking the deadlock. Substitute Marco Richter had barely been on before providing an audacious chip over Koen Casteels. Wolfsburg's number 1 could only watch as it came back off the crossbar. How unlucky can you get? It was Augsburg's first meaningful attempt on goal.

Then down the other end, Paul Jaeckel, on his home debut, pulled out a thunderbolt from range. Crashing against Marwin Hitz's crossbar this time. Both teams frustrated by the frame of the goal. The game ended 10-a-side when Felix Uduokhai also received his marching orders four minutes from the end. A third clean sheet in a row, but just one point earned for Wolfsburg in their scrap to stay in the Bundesliga with four games to go.
