Video Details

Take a look at the Bundesliga's top goalkeepers one third of the way through the season.

COMMENTATOR: We are nearly a third of the way through the 2017-18 season. So it's time for a brief review.

Let's take a closer look at the league's best performers between the stakes. Here are our top five keepers of the season, so far.

Fifth place, in terms of clean sheets.

- Marwin Hitz, Hertha Aubsburg.

COMMENTATOR: Hitz once even scored at the other end, but now he's fully focused on making great saves.

78.85% shots saved this term. It's the best return in the Bundesliga.

He's the shot stopper for the best promoted club this season.

- Philipp Tschauner, Hannover 96.

COMMENTATOR: His stats are repressive too. Hannover 96 are in the top third of the table. Partly thanks to his saves.

ANNOUNCER: Brilliant save. Tschauner gets down to it.

COMMENTATOR: And if you're in such great form, you can afford the odd mishap.

ANNOUNCER: My goodness. He-- Philipp Tschauner with the blunder of the day so far.

COMMENTATOR: A captain of blood, sweat, and tears.

- Ralf Fahrmann, FC Schalke 04.

COMMENTATOR: The Royal Blues goalkeeper frustrates many on opposition forward line. Impressive against long range shots and in bracing off his line. Fahrmann has four clean sheets in 11 games.

In second spot in our rankings--

- Sven Ulreich, FC Bayern Munchen.

COMMENTATOR: There are easier jobs than deputizing for Manuel Neuer, Sven Ulreich certainly mastered the challenge, so far. With a few minor exceptions, Sven Ulreich is a safe pair of hands.

ANNOUNCER: [INAUDIBLE] Ulreich comes up massive in goal for Bayern to make a really important save.

COMMENTATOR: His quirk-- he always makes off with the ball before kickoff. His name--

- Roman Burki, Borussia Dortmund.

COMMENTATOR: The Swiss keeper has stood out this season with outstanding performances. Burki has five clean sheets in 11 games, and he's kept out near-unstoppable shots on his goal.

ANNOUNCER: Oh, what a save from Roman Burki. That would have been the best of the lot.

COMMENTATOR: Those were our top five goalkeepers of the 2017-18 campaign so far.
