Impact Rielly was unavailable for team activities Thursday due to his illness, but he's been cleared to suit up for the Maple Leafs' game a day later. Across 12 appearances since the Olympic break, he's recorded two goals, 18 blocked shots, 13 PIM and eight hits while averaging 20:04 of ice time.

Michael Pezzetta - Rejoins NHL club Pezzetta was recalled from AHL Toronto on Friday.
Impact Pezzetta was sent to the AHL on Tuesday, but he'll rejoin the NHL club a few days later to provide additional depth ahead of a back-to-back set that includes a matchup against the Hurricanes on Friday and a game against the Senators on Saturday. Across two NHL appearances this year, Pezzetta has recorded nine PIM, six hits and a blocked shot while averaging 5:06 of ice time.

Auston Matthews - Undergoes successful surgery Matthews underwent successful MCL knee repair surgery Thursday.
Impact Matthews had already been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a Grade 3 MCL tear and quadriceps contusion, and he has a recovery timetable of approximately 12 weeks following Thursday's procedure. The 28-year-old finished his 2025-26 campaign with 27 goals, 26 assists, 81 blocked shots, 42 hits and 18 PIM while averaging 20:48 of ice time. Given his return timetable, it seems unlikely that Matthews will be an option for Team USA at the IIHF World Championship, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him available for training camp ahead of the 2026-27 NHL campaign.
