INJURIES

Slated for RB2 duties sans Mason Scott will serve as the Vikings' RB2 behind Aaron Jones against the Lions on Thursday after Jordan Mason (ankle) was ruled out.
Impact Scott has served mostly on special teams this season, but he did play a larger role on offense from Weeks 3 to 5, which coincided with Jones' absence due to a hamstring injury. With Mason sidelined, Jones and Scott will lead the Vikings' rushing attack Christmas Day, and Ty Chandler is also available to provide depth in the backfield.
14 HOURS AGO • ROTOWIRE
Three touches as Mason goes down Scott rushed twice for four yards and caught his only target for eight yards in Sunday's 16-13 win over the Giants.
Impact Scott looked poised to work as Minnesota's lead back after both Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason exited due to first-quarter ankle injuries, but Jones returned and handled a workhorse role, finishing with 23 touches to Scott's three. If Jones' injury impacts his availability for Thursday's game against the Lions and Mason remains sidelined, Scott could find himself handling an increased workload.
3 DAYS AGO • ROTOWIRE
No snaps on offense in Week 15 Scott played all three of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys.
Impact Scott picked up three carries in garbage time of last week's 31-0 win over the Commanders, but the Vikings leaned exclusively on Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason out of the backfield in a more competitive Week 15 contest. Unless one of Jones or Mason misses a game due to injury, Scott is unlikely to have much of a role on offense, if any, over the final three weeks of the season.

Gets three carries in blowout win Scott had three carries for 15 yards and one reception for five yards on his lone target in Sunday's 31-0 win over Washington.
Impact Scott had three carries in a second consecutive game, but only because both were blowouts (in opposite directions). He had no carries or targets the four games before, as he's unlikely to see any action on offense if both Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason are healthy.
DECEMBER 8 • ROTOWIRE
Thrust into more prominent role Scott rushed three times for 17 yards and caught his only target for four yards in Sunday's 26-0 loss to Seattle.
Impact Scott was thrust into a more significant role in the second half against the Seahawks after Aaron Jones (shoulder) exited the game and did not return. Scott hadn't garnered a carry since Week 8, and he was able to produce an inspiring 5.7 yards per tote in Week 13. If Jones is forced to miss any action moving forward, Scott will likely operate as the team's primary pass-catching back while in a timeshare with Jordan Mason in Minnesota's backfield.

Limited to special teams Scott played 13 snaps, all on special teams, in Sunday's win at Detroit.
Impact When Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason healthy, Scott will have a limited role on offense. He didn't play on offense after Jones hurt his shoulder in the game, but could figure back into the mix if Jones is sidelined next week against Baltimore.
NOVEMBER 3 • ROTOWIRE
Gets time late in blowout loss Scott had two carries for 16 yards and two receptions for eight yards on two targets in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
Impact With Aaron Jones back from a hamstring injury Scott worked as the No. 3 running back. He only got playing time after the game became a blowout loss as all of his touches on offense came late in the fourth quarter. He's likely to have a very small role on offense if Jones and Jordan Mason are healthy.
OCTOBER 24 • ROTOWIRE
Active Thursday, but Jones is back Scott (wrist) is listed as active Thursday at the Chargers.
Impact Scott emerged from this past Sunday's loss to the Eagles with a wrist injury and then logged a pair of limited walkthroughs before the Vikings tagged him as questionable for Week 8 action. While he'll be available to Minnesota's backfield, he'll be welcoming back Aaron Jones (hamstring) for the first time since Week 2 after the veteran was activated from IR and now is active for Thursday's game. Scott very well could be the third RB behind Jordan Mason and Jones moving forward.
OCTOBER 23 • ROTOWIRE
Status in question for Thursday Scott (wrist) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game at the Chargers.
Impact The same can be said for fellow RB Aaron Jones (hamstring), though the Vikings will need to activate him from injured reserve Thursday afternoon for him to have a chance to return to action for the first time since Week 2. If Jones remains sidelined and Scott is deemed active, the latter will resume his modest role behind Jordan Mason from the last four contests (6.8 touches for 29.5 yards from scrimmage per game while recording one TD catch).
OCTOBER 22 • ROTOWIRE
Limited in Tuesday's walkthrough Scott (wrist) was a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough.
Impact Scott has been listed as a limited practice participant in each of the first two days of the week due to a wrist injury he picked up in the Vikings' Week 7 loss to the Eagles. He would need to practice in full Wednesday in order to avoid an injury designation heading into Thursday's game against the Chargers. Aaron Jones (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Tuesday, but if he's not able to play, Scott -- if cleared for Thursday's game -- would be the Vikings' RB2 behind Jordan Mason.
OCTOBER 22 • ROTOWIRE
Estimated as LP to open week The Vikings estimated Scott (wrist) as an limited participant on Monday's practice report, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Scott played 10 snaps (nine on offense, one on special teams) during Minnesota's loss to Philadelphia on Sunday and finished with four carries for four yards and one catch for two yards on one target. He picked up a wrist injury in the process, and with the Vikings operating on a condensed week, his practice participation over the next two days will determine whether he'll be cleared to play against the Chargers on Thursday. With Aaron Jones (hamstring) and Ty Chandler (knee) both on injured reserve, the Vikings could elevate Cam Akers or Corey Kiner from the practice squad to the active roster for backfield depth behind Jordan Mason if Scott is not cleared to play Week 8.

Hurts wrist in loss Scott underwent medical evaluation after the Sunday's loss to the Eagles for a right wrist injury, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
Impact Scott had four carries for four yards and one reception for two yards on his only target in the loss. He didn't appear to miss time during the game due to the injury so it may not be serious, but he won't have much time to recover with the Vikings playing Thursday at the Chargers.

Five carries but fumbles in win Scott had five carries for 18 yards, but lost a fumble, in Sunday's win over Cleveland in London.
Impact Scott played on 14 of the offense's 65 carries and was the clear No. 2 running back ahead of Cam Akers (one snap on offense). Scott's fumble could put his No. 2 running back role at risk, but it doesn't appear Akers is a significant threat. However, Scott may have just one more game as the backup if Aaron Jones (hamstring) is able to return from injured reserve in Week 8.
