Impact Johnson just reverted to Houston's injured reserve list from waivers Wednesday, but now it looks like he's on the way out of H-Town. Once he recovers from the broken hand he's dealing with, he'll be able to look for another chance with a new team as a free agent.

Impact Johnson will stick around with Houston after having gone unclaimed on waivers. He suffered a broken hand at some point during training camp and will be forced to miss the entirety of the upcoming season unless he's waived with an injury settlement.

Impact Johnson broke his hand at some point during training camp, and he'll be out indefinitely while recovering from the injury, per Wilson. Johnson will revert to the Texans' injured reserve if he goes unclaimed off waivers, which would cause him to miss the entire 2025 season unless he reaches an injury settlement with Houston. Johnson spent all of last season on the Texans' practice squad but was not promoted to the 53-man roster.

Staying in Houston The Texans signed Johnson to a reserve/future contract Wednesday.

Impact Johnson signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent in May. He was unsuccessful in making Buffalo's 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but managed to catch on with Houston on the practice squad. Johnson wasn't elevated to the Texans' active roster during the regular season or postseason, but under a futures contract he'll be on the 90-man roster when the new league year starts March 12. That gives him the opportunity to participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp in the hopes of earning a spot on the Texans' roster for the 2025 campaign.

Impact Johnson was dropped by Buffalo on Tuesday, but he's already found a new home on the Texans' practice squad. The Ohio State product went undrafted this past offseason after recording 13 receptions for 178 yards during his final collegiate season.
