4 Takeaways From the Eagles' Win Over the Commanders
No offensive touches in blowout win Shipley did not receive a carry or a target in Sunday's 31-0 win over the Raiders.
Impact The Eagles went up by 31 pointson the first play of the fourth quarter, a situation which usually leads to some garbage time touches for running backs lower on the depth chart. In this case, those all went to Tank Bigsby, who had 27 offensive snaps to Shipley's three and 17 carries to Shipley's zero.
DECEMBER 16 • ROTOWIRE
One grab against Chargers Shipley caught his lone target for three yards in Sunday's 22-19 overtime loss to the Chargers.
Impact Shipley failed to record a single rushing attempt Monday, while playing just seven of the Eagles' 71 offensive snaps. In 11 appearances this season, the second-year running back has totaled just 11 rushes for 45 yards on offense, adding six receptions for 42 yards. Due to his limited usage in Philadelphia's backfield, Shipley should remain far off the fantasy radar heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Raiders.

Chargers, Eagles in giving mood with three-turnover play

Unable to wrap your hands around the season’s hottest gift
DECEMBER 9 • Associated Press
Minimal impact in Week 14 Shipley caught his lone target for 11 yards while playing four of the Eagles' 53 offensive snaps in Friday's 24-15 loss to the Bears.
Impact The Clemson product received his first offensive touch since the Eagles' Week 10 win over the Packers and played ahead of Tank Bigsby (no touches on just one offensive snap) during Friday's loss, suggesting he may be emerging as the team's No. 2 running back. Shipley has now appeared in 10 games this season, recording 84 total yards on 16 touches while also accumulating 520 kick-return yards. He's likely to remain a minor factor in Philadelphia's offense in the Week 14 matchup against the Chargers.
DECEMBER 1 • ROTOWIRE
No touches vs. Dallas Shipley accumulated 106 kick-return yards and played seven of the Eagles' 58 offensive snaps in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Cowboys.
Impact The 23-year-old from Clemson played more offensive snaps than Tank Bigsby (three) but still didn't record an offensive touch. Shipley has now gone without a carry in four of the Eagles' last six games, indicating he's operating as the team's No. 3 running back. He's expected to continue contributing as one of Philadelphia's top kick returners in the Week 13 matchup against the Bears.
NOVEMBER 24 • ROTOWIRE
Zero touches against Lions Shipley had zero carries and zero catches against the Lions on Sunday.
Impact One week after Shipley touched the ball a season-high six times on offense, he went an entire game without a single touch, something that's happened on two other occasions already this year. He only played seven offensive snaps, one fewer than fellow backup running back Tank Bigsby.
NOVEMBER 18 • ROTOWIRE
Season-high six touches Shipley rushed four times for 17 yards and caught a pair of passes for 17 more yards in Monday's win over the Packers.
Impact Both Shipley's carries and catches represented season highs, but the overall picture was still quite a minor role. He did at least see the field for 12 offensive snaps (another season high, and four more than Tank Bigsby managed), but his pathway to becoming a significant part of the Eagles' offensive is hard to envision as long as Saquon Barkley remains healthy.
NOVEMBER 12 • ROTOWIRE
Small role in Week 8 Shipley rushed three times for a total of two yards in Sunday's 38-20 win over the Giants.
Impact Shipley appears to have slipped to third on the depth chart, as his eight offensive snaps were only half of those played by Tank Bigsby, who carried the ball nine times. Saquon Barkley exited with a groin injury at the end of the third quarter but believes he'll be good to go after the team's Week 9 bye. If Barkley does wind up missing time, Shipley should play a larger role than normal in Week 10 against the Packers but would likely still see fewer touches than Bigsby.
OCTOBER 27 • ROTOWIRE
One touch in Week 7 Shipley caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's 28-22 win over the Vikings.
Impact Shipley was the second running back on the depth chart Sunday, seeing the field for eight offensive snaps compared to four for Tank Bigsby, with AJ Dillon a healthy scratch. Unless Saquon Barkley gets hurt, however, there won't be enough touches available for any other running back on the team to have fantasy relevance.
OCTOBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
One touch in Week 7 Shipley caught one pass for seven yards in Sunday's 28-22 win over the Vikings.
Impact Shipley was the second running back on the depth chart Sunday, seeing the field for eight offensive snaps compared to four for Tank Bigsby, with AJ Dillon a healthy scratch. Unless Saquon Barkley gets hurt, however, there won't be enough touches available for any other running back on the team to have fantasy relevance.
OCTOBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Barely features in Week 6 Shipley saw the field for just three offensive snaps in Thursday's loss to the Giants.
Impact Shipley hasn't been a significant part of the offense at any point this season for the Eagles, but Thursday represented his season-low snap count. He did not touch the ball on offense but did return one kick for 22 yards.
OCTOBER 10 • ROTOWIRE
Two touches in Week 5 Shipley rushed once for zero yards and caught one pass for four yards in Sunday's loss to the Broncos.
Impact Shipley saw the field for eight offensive snaps compared to nine for fellow backup running back AJ Dillon, with both backs touching the ball twice. That represents Shipley's highest offensive snap count of the year, leaving him far away from fantasy relevance.

Saquon Barkley injury fantasy tip: Pick up AJ Dillon or Will Shipley? Eagles' RB depth chart matters for Week 6 | Sporting News This came a bit out of nowhere.
OCTOBER 7 • SPORTINGNEWS.COM
Returns to action but barely plays Shipley returned to action Sunday against the Buccaneers after missing the previous two games with an oblique injury but did not touch the ball on offense.
Impact It was good to see Shipley back on the field, but his role was almost exclusively limited to special teams, where he featured as a kick returner. He played just three offensive snaps and did not receive a carry nor catch a pass, though he was targeted once.
SEPTEMBER 30 • ROTOWIRE
Opens Week 4 with full practice Shipley (oblique) was a full practice participant Wednesday.
Impact Shipley hurt his oblique in Week 1 against Dallas and hasn't been able to play since. He finished last week with a pair of limited practices and has now been cleared to practice in full, which bodes well for his likelihood of returning to gameday action Sunday in Tampa Bay. If he's able to do so, Shipley will likely slide back into the No. 2 RB role behind workhorse Saquon Barkley.
SEPTEMBER 25 • ROTOWIRE
Not playing Sunday Shipley (oblique) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams.
Impact Shipley left the Eagles' season-opening win against the Cowboys with a rib injury that eventually was reclassified as an oblique issue on Week 2 injury reports. He missed all three sessions last week before Philadelphia ruled him out, but he was able practice in a limited capacity this Thursday and Friday before a decision was made regarding his Week 3 availability. As long as Shipley is sidelined, AJ Dillon should handle most of the RB reps that don't go to starter Saquon Barkley, as Tank Bigsby didn't play any offensive snaps in his Eagles debut this past Sunday in Kansas City.
SEPTEMBER 19 • ROTOWIRE
Back at practice Shipley (oblique) was a limited participant at practice Thursday.
Impact Shipley was unable to practice Wednesday due to an oblique injury, so his return to action Thursday is a positive sign. The running back will look to log a full practice Friday before the team faces the Rams on Sunday.
SEPTEMBER 18 • ROTOWIRE
DNP on Wednesday Shipley (oblique) did not practice Wednesday.
Impact Shipley was injured in the Week 1 opener against the Cowboys 13 days ago and has yet to return to practice. His role once healthy is unclear after the Eagles traded for Tank Bigsby last week.
SEPTEMBER 17 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting out in Week 2 Shipley (oblique) has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Kansas City, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports.
Impact Shipley wasn't able to practice in any capacity this week due to the oblique injury that forced him out just before halftime of last Thursday's win against the Cowboys. With an absence now on tap for Shipley, AJ Dillon and Tank Bigsby will be the candidates to spell top RB Saquon Barkley this weekend, while Audric Estime is a candidate to be elevated from the practice squad.
SEPTEMBER 12 • ROTOWIRE
No practice Thursday Shipley (oblique) didn't take part in practice Thursday.
Impact Although Shipley was present during the media-access portion of the session, he was held out of all drills for a second day in a row due to the oblique injury that knocked him out of last Thursday's win versus the Cowboys. Another absence Friday may spur the Eagles to rule him out for Week 2 action, but a listing of questionable or doubtful would keep the door ajar for active status Sunday at Kansas City. Behind No. 1 RB Saquon Barkley, AJ Dillon and recent acquisition Tank Bigsby are the backfield options on Philadelphia's active roster, while Audric Estime resides on the practice squad.
