INJURIES

Logs limited practice Wednesday Dissly (Achilles) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Impact This is Dissly's first appearance on the injury report since being fully cleared ahead of Week 1. His presence on the report is slightly concerning considering he ruptured his Achilles' tendon Week 6 last season, as the injury could be flaring up despite successful rehab. If Dissly is forced to miss any time, Greg Olsen would get a slight bump as the clear No. 1 tight end, but the Seahawks could opt to use fewer less two-tight end sets. That could create more opportunities for depth wideouts David Moore and Freddie Swain to see extra snaps.

Largely uninvolved against Pats Dissly caught his only target for a nine-yard gain during Sunday's 35-30 win against New England.
Impact The 2018 fourth-round draft choice showed immediate promise as a rookie, racking up six catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns over his first two career outings. A knee injury ended that campaign after Dissly made four appearances, however. Last year he came out firing again, racking up five-plus catches and a touchdown in three of six appearances before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury. Perhaps slowed by the damage his body has taken over the past two seasons, Dissly is off to a quiet start with three catches and 17 yards through two weeks. Still, given that he's playing with a quarterback in Russell Wilson who has nearly as many touchdown passes (nine) as incompletions (11) thus far in 2020, one could certainly do worse in taking a flyer at tight end.

Snags two passes Dissly caught both targets for eight yards in Sunday's 38-25 win over the Falcons.
Impact When Dissly returned from a patellar tear last season, the Seahawks eased him into action, and they're following the same path this season. The third-year tight end played 25 of 62 offensive snaps (40 percent) and wasn't a fixture in the passing game, while Greg Olsen logged 41 snaps and hauled in four passes for 24 yards and a touchdown. Dissly could take some of Olsen's snaps if he stays healthy and proves he's still the tight end that posted 23-262-4 through five games last season.

Cleared for return Dissly (Achilles) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Atlanta, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Making his way back from last year's Achilles tear, Dissly was added to the injury report Thursday as a limited participant, but he's apparently good to go for the season opener. It isn't clear he'll have a significant role on offense, considering the Seahawks gave Greg Olsen a one-year, $7 million contract this past offseason. That said, Dissly certainly looked like more than a role player prior to his season-ending injuries the past two years, producing 10.2 YPT and six touchdowns on 41 targets in 10 total games.

Added to injury report Dissly (Achilles) was limited during Thursday's practice, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Dissly wasn't listed on Wednesday's first injury report of the season, but he's still feeling residual effects of the Achilles' tear he sustained last October. With all of Greg Olsen, Jacob Hollister and Luke Willson in house, the Seahawks could opt to ease Dissly back into action even if he's cleared to suit up in Atlanta on Sunday.

Sidesteps injury report Dissly (Achilles) wasn't listed on the Seahawks' injury report Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
Impact Dissly has been in recovery mode since tearing his left Achilles on Oct. 13 last season, his second serious injury in as many seasons as a pro. And for the second year in a row, he'll be available from the outset of the campaign. The Seahawks may opt to ease him into action Sunday in Atlanta, and he has healthy competition for snaps from fellow tight ends Greg Olsen, Jacob Hollister and Luke Willson. However, Dissly's nose for the end zone is evident, as he has six touchdowns on 31 catches across 10 career appearances.

Practicing with pads Dissly (Achilles) wore pads during Tuesday's practice, he reports.
Impact Dissly tore his Achilles in Week 6 last year and has been diligently rehabbing since then. He passed a physical in early August and has been easing into practices, and while there haven't been reports that Dissly has taken contact yet, participating in padded practice is a big step. The 24-year-old tight end has shown nothing but promise since entering the league, as he's accrued 31 receptions for 418 yards and six touchdowns over 10 games, but his inability to stay healthy has left fantasy managers disappointed.

Impact Though Carroll has been encouraged by how Dissly has fared in his recovery from the torn Achilles' tendon he suffered nine months earlier, the Seahawks aren't inclined to rush the 24-year-old while he returns from his second major lower-body injury in as many years. Perhaps due to a lack of confidence in how Dissly's comeback effort might play out, the Seahawks pumped significant resources into their tight-end room this offseason by signing veteran Greg Olsen, re-signing Cody Hollister and Luke Willson, and spending a fourth-round pick on Colby Parkinson. Even if Dissly gains clearance for Week 1, he's probably looking at a timeshare at the position with Olsen in a best-case scenario.
