Out of hospital Cannon (concussion) has been released from the hospital, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Cannon left Sunday's game in an ambulance after taking a knee to the head on the opening kickoff. It was since reported that he was in stable condition, and his release from the hospital is optimistic news. Still, he will remain in the team's concussion protocol going forward.

Injuries could open up opportunity Cannon could see his role expand with all three running backs ahead of him on the depth chart dealing with injuries.
Impact Cannon -- who was signed mid-week prior to Sunday's win over the Eagles -- received one carry for minus-1 yard after Elijah Mitchell (shoulder), Trey Sermon (concussion) and JaMycal Hasty (ankle) all went down to injury. Only the latter is confirmed to have a long-term injury, so Cannon isn't guaranteed to start against the Packers on Sunday. The team also is bringing in a trio of veteran backs (T.J. Yeldon, Duke Johnson and Lamar Miller) to work out this week, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. Cannon still could be worth a speculative add in the event the 49ers' current backs have to sit out, and the veteran options aren't ready to play.

Signs with Baltimore Cannon signed with the Ravens on Wednesday, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official website reports.
Impact Cannon made the initial 53-man roster in Carolina but then was waived a couple days later. He's played 62 percent of his NFL snaps on special teams, which is where he'll likely see most of his work even after joining an injury-ravaged backfield. It is possible Cannon gets a few Week 1 touches as the No. 3 RB behind Gus Edwards and Ty'Son Williams, but the Ravens also have Le'Veon Bell on the practice squad in case Edwards/Williams suffers an injury.

Back from injury Cannon is expected to return back from a lower-body injury sometime this week, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Impact More importantly, it seems Cannon should be a lock to make the team's roster despite missing some time with the aforementioned injury. The fourth-year back is expected to contribute primarily on special teams after registering a career-high 167 snaps in that category last year.

Plays 14 games Cannon finished the 2020 season with 10 carries for 33 yards and three catches on three targets for 16 yards in 14 games played.
Impact Cannon enjoyed a depth tailback and special-teams role in his first season with the Panthers. While his fantasy value should be even more limited with Christian McCaffrey (thigh) healthy next season, Cannon is under contract with Carolina through the 2021 season..

Could factor into Week 17 backfield Panthers head coach Matt Rhule named Cannon as a candidate to mix into the team's backfield Sunday against the Saints with Christian McCaffrey (thigh) and Mike Davis (ankle) unlike...
Impact Cannon has been active for each of the Panthers' last 11 games, but he's worked almost exclusively on special teams during that stretch, garnering a total of 13 touches (10 carries, three receptions) while playing only 37 offensive snaps. With the team's top two backs on track to sit out the season finale, more opportunities could open up for Cannon, but he'll still likely find himself behind Rodney Smith and Curtis Samuel in the pecking order for touches out of the backfield. Even as a low-cost punt play in DFS, Cannon won't have much appeal.
DECEMBER 31, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Garners three carries Cannon rushed three times for 17 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Vikings.
Impact Cannon also caught his lone target for a one-yard gain. Despite his increased involvement Sunday compared to usual, the reserve tailback holds little fantasy value and could be inactive if Christian McCaffrey returns following Carolina's bye in Week 13.
