Impact Edmunds has put together a trio of limited practices this week, and it looks as though the final word on his status may not come until Buffalo's inactive list is revealed around 11:30 a.m. ET on Sunday. Fellow starter Matt Milano (hamstring) is also listed as questionable, so it remains possible that Buffalo's defense could once again be without its top two linebackers versus the Rams.

Inching toward return Edmunds, who practiced Wednesday on a limited basis, is working agains Thursday while in a non-contact jersey, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Impact Edmunds and Matt Milano -- the two best linebackers on the team -- both missed the Week 2 win over the Dolphins. While the substitutes performed adequately, it was clear there was something missing without the two main guys, and the stout Buffalo defense yielded some big yardage over the middle of the field throughout the game. Those that roster Tyler Higbee will want to keep an eye on the two linebackers' statuses the the Rams-Bills matchup following a game where Miami tight end Mike Giesicki torched the Buffalo defense for an 8-130-1 line.

Impact McDermott said that neither Edmunds nor position mate Matt Milano (hamstring) will practice Friday or suit up Sunday. With both starting linebackers sidelined, it looks like Tyrel Dodson and Tyler Matakevich will be thrust into the lineup in Miami. The opportunity that Dodson and Matakevich should receive makes them both emergency options in IDP formats. Starter A.J. Klein will also see the field a lot more this week.

Impact Edmunds is entering his third year with the team and will play all three downs in a defense he's comfortable with. After posting 121 and 115 tackles in his first two seasons, he seems like a sure bet -- assuming good health -- to post another triple-digit tackle season. Edmunds only recorded one turnover in 2019, so perhaps some of his hard work will get him back toward his four-turnover total from his 2018 rookie season.
