Tre'Davious White - NFL News, Rumors, & Updates

Returns to Buffalo The Bills signed White to the practice squad Monday, Maddy Glabb of the team's official site reports.

Impact White turned down multiple opportunities to return to Buffalo. The former star takes the place of cornerback A.J. Woods on the practice squad, where White will start until he can seize an opportunity with the active roster. With second-year cornerback Maxwell Hairston continuing to struggle in coverage, White may have a quick path to game-day snaps.

Records 10 defensed passes in 2025-26 White finished the regular season with 40 tackles (29 solo) and 10 defensed passes, including an interception, over 16 games.

Impact White missed Week 1 due to a groin injury but proceeded to start each of the Bills' subsequent 16 games. After a one-year hiatus split between Baltimore and the Rams, White had a solid return to Buffalo, pacing the team with 10 defensed passes -- his highest mark since 2020. White will continue to work as one of the Bills' starting cornerbacks in the postseason before becoming a free agent upon the conclusion of the campaign.

Cleared to play Week 18 White (illness) was a full participant in Friday's practice and does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets.

Impact White popped up on Buffalo's injury report as a limited participant in Thursday's practice, but he's already fully recovered from his illness. The veteran cornerback can be considered fully on track to suit up at home against New York, though with the Bills already locked into a wild-card spot, it's possible that not all starters will play out the entirety of Sunday's contest.

JANUARY 2 • ROTOWIRE

Limited by illness White (illness) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.

Impact White wasn't listed on Wednesday's practice report, so the illness is a new issue for the veteran cornerback. He would likely avoid an injury designation for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets if he were to log a full practice Friday. In the 10 games since the Bills' Week 7 bye, White has logged 18 tackles (10 solo) and seven pass defenses (including one interception).

Seven tackles in Week 4 win White logged seven solo tackles during the Bills' 31-19 win over the Saints on Sunday.

Impact White played 51 of 67 defensive snaps Sunday and led the Bills in tackles. The veteran corner missed Buffalo's first game of the regular season and was limited in Week 2 due to a groin injury, but he has seen the field far more over the Bills' last two games. The 2017 first-rounder is up to 15 tackles (14 solo) and two pass defenses across three games to start the year.

Records five stops in Week 3 White totaled five tackles (four solo) and a defensed pass in a 31-21 win over Miami on Thursday.

Impact One of White's tackles went for a loss, as he took down Jaylen Waddle for a loss of three yards on a passing play in the third quarter. White was on the field for every one of the Bills' defensive snaps in the victory after missing Week 1 due to a groin injury and logging just 55 percent of the team's defensive snaps in Week 2.

SEPTEMBER 22, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Good to go Sunday White (groin) is active for Sunday's game against the Jets, Chris Brown of the Bills Radio Network reports.

Impact The cornerback was a limited participant in practice in the week leading up to this contest after missing Buffalo's Week 1 win over the Ravens. With rookie first-round pick Maxwell Hairston (knee) still on IR, White should step forward into a starting role Sunday. The veteran and former Bill re-signed with the team in the offseason on a one-year deal after spending 2024 with the Ravens and Rams.

SEPTEMBER 14, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Questionable after limited practice White (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Impact White was a limited participant in all three of Buffalo's practices leading up to the team's Week 2 road game against the Jets. If the veteran cornerback gets the green light to make his season debut Sunday, White would likely be thrust into a prominent role immediately in a banged-up Bills secondary.

SEPTEMBER 12, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Limited Wednesday White (groin) was limited in practice Wednesday.

Impact White didn't practice in any capacity prior to being ruled inactive for Week 1, so his limited activity Wednesday represents a tangible step in the right direction. With rookie first-round pick Maxwell Hairston (knee) on IR and out until at least Week 5, White will provide a significant boost to Buffalo's cornerback corps when back on the field. He'll have two more chances to upgrade to full practice reps ahead of Sunday's road game against the Jets.

SEPTEMBER 10, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Inactive for SNF White (groin) is inactive for Sunday night's game against the Ravens.

Impact White was listed as doubtful after racking up three DNPs during the week, so this was the expectation for the veteran cornerback. With Maxwell Hairston (knee) also out for Buffalo, the Bills will be forced to dip down their cornerback depth chart against Baltimore, giving additional reps to Ja'Marcus Ingram, Dorian Strong and perhaps Brandon Codrington.

SEPTEMBER 7, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Doubtful for Sunday night White (groin) is doubtful for Sunday night's game against the Ravens.

Impact White didn't practice at all this week and doesn't appear to be particularly close to returning to the field after initially getting injured in late August. The good news for Buffalo is Christian Benford (groin) practiced fully Thursday and Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation into Week 1.

SEPTEMBER 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Still not practicing White (groin) won't practice Friday, per head coach Sean McDermott, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

Impact White hasn't practiced at all leading up to Buffalo's season opener against the Ravens on Sunday, but McDermott said it's too early to rule anybody out for the Bills. Still, White seems more likely than not to sit out Week 1, which would leave the Bills shorthanded in the secondary since rookie first-round pick Maxwell Hairston (knee) is on IR to begin the year.

SEPTEMBER 5, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Dealing with groin injury White did not participate in Wednesday's practice due to a groin injury.

Impact White was diagnosed with a lower-body injury toward the end of training camp, but the veteran corner appears to be dealing with a groin issue. His practice participation over the next two days will provide clarity on his status heading into the Bills' regular-season opener against the Ravens on Sunday. The Bills may have to turn to Taron Johnson, Dorian Strong and Ja'Marcus Ingram to slide in at outside corner if White and Christian Benford (groin) are unable to play.

SEPTEMBER 3, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Misses Wednesday's practice White (lower leg) didn't practice Wednesday, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.

Impact White is now in jeopardy of missing the Bills' Week 1 affair against the Ravens, as he hasn't practiced since sustaining a lower leg injury in late August. The veteran corner's practice participation Thursday and Friday will likely provide a better indication on whether he can suit up Sunday. Buffalo's secondary is already plagued with injuries, as Christian Benford (undisclosed) and Maxwell Hairston (knee) are also banged up heading into Week 1.

Question mark for Week 1 White, who suffered a lower leg injury during last Thursday's practice, has yet to return to the practice field and his status remains unknown for the Bills' season opener against...

Impact White has not practiced this week. Said general manager Brandon Beane on Thursday: "Tre's got a great attitude, he's attacking it. Really other than that, we're just going to take it day by day...Wednesday, I think, is the first day an injury report will be due, so we'll see what it is, whether he can practice any or not."This takes on added import for the Bills, as the player White was supposed to back up and mentor, first-round rookie Maxwell Hairston, is on IR-R with a knee injury and will miss at least the first four weeks of the season.

AUGUST 29, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Dealing with lower leg injury Coach Sean McDermott said Saturday that White underwent an MRI for a lower leg injury, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.

Impact White played 19 defensive snaps in the Bills' preseason opener back on Aug. 9 but didn't appear in either of the next two exhibitions. Bills general manager Brandon Beane said there is no timeline for White's return. Buffalo is already without first-round rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston after he injured his knee early in training camp. Hairston has yet to return to practice and remains "a ways away" from beginning a ramping up process, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reported Tuesday.

AUGUST 24, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

May be in spotlight early White's teammate Maxwell Hairston is expected to be sidelined for at least the next three weeks after being diagnosed with an LCL sprain in his right knee, meaning White could take...

Impact Hairston was the team's first-round pick back in April, and the plan seemed to be to have him start right away, with White -- who was a first-rounder himself in 2017 -- set to serve as a mentor and steady backup presence. That plan may change now if Hairston can't get enough reps in before the Week 1 opener vs. the Ravens. If White does see a starter's snap count early on in the season, he could be a good source for tackles, etc. given that he'd be playing opposite the team's top corner in Christian Bedford. Dane Jackson is also in the mix more more potential action.

AUGUST 1, 2025 • ROTOWIRE

Returns to Buffalo The Bills signed White to a one-year contract worth up to $6.8 million Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact White, of course, was the 27th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Bills and spent the first seven seasons of his career with Buffalo, making a pair of Pro Bowls while being named a first-team All-Pro once. Injuries then took a toll on the cornerback, and the 30-year-old spent last season splitting time with the Rams and Ravens, playing in 11 regular-season contests. He'll try to rebound his career in a familiar environment.
