INJURIES

Upgrades to full practice Homer (hamstring) was a full participant in practice Thursday.
Impact Homer thus stands to return this Sunday against Las Vegas after missing one game with a hamstring injury. He should get some work on passing downs, if nothing else, rejoining a backfield that featured D'Onta Foreman and Darrynton Evans in a Week 6 loss to Minnesota. Roschon Johnson (concussion) missed another practice Thursday, and Khalil Herbert (ankle) is out for at least three more games on injured reserve.

Limited in practice Homer (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Impact The return to practice gives him some shot to play this Sunday against the Raiders after missing Week 6, but Homer likely would get most of his work on passing downs even with Khalil Herbert (ankle) on injured reserve and Roschon Johnson (concussion) looking uncertain to be available this week. D'Onta Foreman and Darrynton Evans handled all the backfield snaps in this past Sunday's loss to Minnesota while Herbert, Johnson and Homer were out.

Heading to Chicago Homer (ankle) has agreed to terms on a two-year deal worth a maximum of $4.5 million with the Bears, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact The Bears are looking to add running back depth behind Khalil Herbert after losing David Montgomery to the Lions in free agency. Homer spent his first four seasons with the Seahawks and contributed as backfield depth and as a core special teamer. He accumulated 114 rushing yards on 18 carries to go along with 56 receiving yards on 11 receptions across 16 games last season.

Shifts to IR Homer (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Impact Homer wasn't expected to play Week 18, but this move now means that the 24-year-old wouldn't be able to return unless the Seahawks make it to the Super Bowl. Expect Kenneth Walker and DeeJay Dallas to carry the load in a Week 18 matchup against the Rams.

Likely to sit out Week 18 Homer (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Rams, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
Impact Barring some dramatic improvement in his recovery from the ankle sprain leading up to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, Homer will sit out a critical regular-season finale for the Seahawks, who can punch their ticket to the postseason with a win plus a Green Bay loss to Detroit later Sunday. Assuming Homer ends up being inactive for Week 18, the Seahawks will likely turn to DeeJay Dallas to serve as the top change-of-pace option behind lead back Kenneth Walker.
JANUARY 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Still no activity at practice Homer (ankle) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Homer is seeking to end his DNP streak at one game, but a sprained ankle hasn't allowed him to practice since Week 16 prep. Fellow running backs Kenneth Walker (ankle/illness) and DeeJay Dallas (ankle) also didn't practice Wednesday and Thursday, so the state of the position group remains up in the air in the midst of Week 18 prep. If Walker is able to play Sunday against the Rams, he likely would be the Seahawks' primary backfield option, which would leave some snaps and touches for whoever among Homer and Dallas are available. In the end, Homer's status could receive some clarity, one way or another, upon the release of Friday's injury report.
JANUARY 6, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
No practice reps Wednesday Homer (ankle) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Homer sprained his ankle Week 16 at Kansas City, which kept him out of on-field work last week and eventually resulted in an inactive status this past Sunday versus the Jets. With no practice reps evident since suffering the injury, he doesn't appear to be in a great spot to play Week 18 against the Rams. Still, because head coach Pete Carroll told John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site on Monday that Homer may be able to return for Sunday's game, the running back's status will be one to watch as the week goes on. Notably, position mates Kenneth Walker (ankle/illness) and DeeJay Dallas (ankle) also sat out Wednesday, so the team's backfield again is in flux.
JANUARY 5, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Could return Sunday Head coach Pete Carroll said Monday that Travis Homer (ankle) could return Week 18 against the Rams, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Homer suffered the injury Week 16 against the Chiefs and he was unable to suit up in Sunday's win over the Jets. His ability to return would certainly be a boost to the Seahawks' depth at running back in Sunday's pivotal game against the Rams, which they need to win to have a chance to earn a playoff spot.
JANUARY 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Sitting out Sunday Homer (ankle) is listed as inactive Sunday against the Jets.
Impact Homer was forced out Week 16 in Kansas City with what was eventually termed an ankle sprain, which didn't allow him to practice during Week 17 prep. With his status confirmed, he won't be an option to get touches behind the Seahawks' top running back Kenneth Walker (ankle). Instead, DeeJay Dallas is the likeliest candidate to earn complementary snaps while Walker gets the bulk of the workload.
JANUARY 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Questionable to play this week Homer (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports.
Impact Starter Kenneth Walker (ankle) is also listed as questionable but expected to play, while DeeJay Dallas (ankle) has been removed from the final injury report. Homer could take the passing-down-job back from Dallas if he's able to play this Sunday after spraining his ankle in the first quarter of a loss to the Chiefs last week. Dallas ended up catching six passes, while Homer tends to do more blocking when he handles the third-down work.
DECEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
DNP on Thursday Homer (ankle) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Homer picked up a sprained ankle this past Saturday at Kansas City and has yet to practice this week as a result of the injury. Meanwhile, the Seahawks' No. 1 running back Kenneth Walker (ankle) followed up Wednesday's DNP with a limited session one day later, and fellow reserve RB DeeJay Dallas (ankle) continued to operate with a cap on his reps. Homer does have one more chance Friday to log some on-field activity, but if he ends up limited or out Sunday versus the Jets, Dallas appears poised to act as the second option out of Seattle's backfield behind Walker.
DECEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Begins week as non-participant Homer (ankle) sat out Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Impact Fellow running back Kenneth Walker, though his absence may be more maintenance-related to ensure he's as healthy as possible for game day. Meanwhile, DeeJay Dallas (ankle) was a limited participant. Homer himself sprained his ankle this past Saturday in Kansas City, capping him at one snap on offense and four on special teams. His usage was well behind Walker (who played 40 of 76 snaps on offense) and Dallas (35 of 76), and Homer's new health concern may be putting him down further in the pecking order in the Seahawks backfield. Ultimately, Friday's practice report may clarify the overall situation ahead of Sunday's game against the Jets.
DECEMBER 29, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Dealing with sprained ankle Coach Pete Carroll said Homer suffered an ankle sprain during Saturday' 24-10 loss at Kansas City, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Impact Before he departured in the first half, Homer made a tackle on kick coverage but otherwise didn't earn a carry or target. Kenneth Walker continued to dominate the Seahawks backfield, despite not practicing at all during Week 16 prep due to an ankle injury, en route to 26 rushes for 107 yards and two catches (on two targets) for minus-2 yards. Meanwhile, DeeJay Dallas had two carries for 10 yards and gathered in all six targets for 32 yards. With the health of all three in some question before or after this contest, the situation will be one to monitor as Seattle prepares for its next game Sunday, Jan. 1 versus the Jets.
DECEMBER 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Tweaks ankle in Saturday's game Homer is questionable to return to Saturday's game against the Chiefs due to an ankle injury.
Impact Homer didn't draw any targets or take any carries before exiting the contest to get his ankle checked out. If Homer ends up missing the rest of the Week 16 game, DeeJay Dallas would be next in line for change-of-pace work behind top back Kenneth Walker.
DECEMBER 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Catches four passes in loss Homer rushed once for five yards and caught all four of his targets for 25 yards in Thursday's 21-13 loss to the 49ers.
Impact Rookie running back Kenneth Walker returned from an ankle injury and handled 16 touches, and Homer was limited to just 15 snaps. However, he still managed to make an impact with his highest catch total since Week 2, which was coincidently also against the 49ers. Homer will continue to play second fiddle to Walker for the remainder of the season, so his fantasy value will be unreliable.
DECEMBER 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Reverts to backup role Homer is expected to operate as the No. 2 running back in Thursday's game versus the 49ers with lead back Kenneth Walker (ankle) set to return from a one-game absence, John Boyle o...
Impact With a 91 percent snap share, Homer was the clear lead back in Seattle's Week 14 loss to Carolina, but that playing time translated into a mere 11 touches. Walker should be ready to play Thursday, though the Seahawks may not be comfortable returning him to his usual workload in his first game back. If that's the case, Homer could retain a larger role than he usually does when Walker is available, but Homer's fantasy value is still undoubtedly lower now that Walker is set to play in some capacity.
DECEMBER 15, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Quiet in start Homer rushed nine times for 26 yards in Sunday's 30-24 loss to the Panthers. He also caught two of three targets for eight yards.
Impact Homer started at tailback with both Kenneth Walker and DeeJay Dallas sidelined with ankle injuries. However, Homer wasn't able to capitalize on his opportunity, struggling to find much room to run besides a long gain of 16 yards. Although the Seahawks face a quick turnaround ahead of Week 15's Thursday night contest versus the 49ers, Homer could return to a reserve role if Walker and/or Dallas are able to suit up.

Impact Homer will get a prime opportunity to produce with two of Seattle's top three running backs sidelined. On the season, he's averaged 4.8 YPC on his nine rushes and hauled in 10 of 11 targets for 124 yards and one touchdown, while Jones has just seven carries for 14 yards and two catches (on four targets) for 18 yards. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported earlier Sunday that Jones may start over Homer, but their respective stat lines and Schneider's comment would seem to indicate Homer is the best bet to post the most notable stat line among those available to this backfield Week 14.
