Impact Baker will find his next opportunity with the Patriots' practice squad after reaching an injury settlement with the Giants in mid-August due to a knee issue. He is a candidate to be elevated to the active roster if the Patriots need backfield depth behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson on gameday. Fellow practice squad running back Terrell Jennings has already been elevated by the Patriots three times, which means he would have to be officially signed to the active roster in order to play for New England again this season.

Injures knee Saturday Baker suffered a knee injury during Saturday's training camp practice, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Impact Baker went down with the injury during 1-on-1 route running drills, but he was seen on the sidelines with a trainer and appears to have avoided a serious injury. The undrafted running back is competing for a backfield depth spot on the Giants' 53-man roster and stood to see an uptick in snaps in team drills due to Cam Skattebo (hamstring) being sidelined. If Baker can return to practice, he would likely split backup reps with Dante Miller while Skattebo and Eric Gray (undisclosed) are out of action.

Joining Big Blue Baker signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent Friday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Impact Baker spent the first three years of his collegiate career at Bucknell before finishing at Elon in 2024. Over his final three college seasons, he logged 454 carries for 1,983 yards and 23 touchdowns. Though Baker is likely an extra body for offseason activities, he could find earn a spot on the Giants' practice squad if he impresses over the summer.
