INJURIES

Practices in full Johnson (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice.
Impact Though Wednesday's practice report is merely an estimate, his full listing is nonetheless a good sign that he's made significant progress through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. If Johnson can gain clearance from an independent neurologist ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions, he will be in position to reclaim his backup role behind D'Andre Swift.
DECEMBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Out once again Johnson (concussion) has been ruled out and will not play Monday against the Vikings.
Impact Johnson has now missed the past two contests due to a concussion suffered during the Thanksgiving game against the Lions. With D'Andre Swift (groin) once again questionable for the contest, Travis Homer and Darrynton Evans could see additional looks.
DECEMBER 14, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
DNP again Friday Johnson (concussion) remained sidelined for Friday's practice.
Impact Johnson was concussed on Thanksgiving Day against the Lions in Week 13 and missed last week's loss to the 49ers. If he's unable to gain clearance for Monday night's game against the Vikings, Travis Homer (head) would be next up at running back. It's worth mentioning that D'Andre Swift (groin) has also missed practice Thursday and Friday. Darrynton Evans and Royce Freeman are on Chicago's practice squad.
DECEMBER 13, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Misses Thursday's walkthrough Johnson (concussion) was a non-participant at Thursday's walkthrough.
Impact Johnson has been a listed DNP since sustaining a concussion during a Thanksgiving day loss at Detroit, sitting out Week 14 at San Francisco so far. With no activity to speak of yet, he clearly hasn't made much progress through the protocol for head inuries. Meanwhile, fellow RB D'Andre Swift (groin) also was a non-participant Thursday, and Travis Homer (head) was listed as full. Consequently, the state of the Bears backfield remains in fux ahead of Monday's game in Minnesota.
DECEMBER 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Ruled out for Week 14 Johnson (concussion) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Impact Johnson remains in the concussion protocol and hasn't yet practiced in any capacity. His next chance to suit up will come Week 15 against the Vikings, but Johnson will need to gain full clearance from the concussion protocol in order to do so. With Johnsons sidelined and D'Andre Swift (quadriceps) listed as questionable for Sunday's road matchup, Travis Homer and practice-squad member Darrynton Evans could be in line to handle key backfield roles for Chicago.
DECEMBER 6, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Still sidelined for practice Johnson (concussion) didn't practice Thursday.
Impact Both Johnson and D'Andre Swift (quadricep) were spectators for the second practice in a row, leaving the statuses of both of the team's top two running backs in question as Sunday's game at San Francisco approaches. If Johnson can't clear concussion protocol before the weekend and if Swift is forced to miss his first game of the season, the Bears would likely turn to Travis Homer and practice-squad member Darrynton Evans to take on most of the reps out of the backfield.
DECEMBER 5, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Listed as non-participant Johnson (concussion) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Impact Johnson was forced out of Thursday's divisional loss to the Lions due to a concussion, meaning he'll now need to fully clear the league's five-step protocol before being eligible to suit up for game action. With D'Andre Swift (quadriceps) not practicing Wednesday due to injury, special-teams ace Travis Homer will have an option to handle No. 1 practice reps, and potentially a key role on offense during Sunday's road matchup against the 49ers. Darrynton Evans will also be a candidate for elevation from the practice squad if one of Johnson or Swift can't go.
DECEMBER 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Concussion confirmed Johnson won't return to Thursday's game in Detroit due to a concussion.
Impact Late in the first half, Johnson was checked for a head injury, which now has been confirmed. He'll finish Week 13 action without a touch after recording a touchdown in back-to-back outings prior to Thursday's contest.
NOVEMBER 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Getting concussion check Johnson is under evaluation for a head injury during Thursday's game at Detroit.
Impact To add insult to injury in a first half in which the Bears went three and out on each of their first three possessions, their No. 2 RB may soon enter the concussion protocol. Johnson didn't have a touch prior to exiting in the second quarter.

Scores another touchdown Johnson rushed twice for two yards and a touchdown, and he caught a 10-yard pass in the Bears' 30-27 overtime loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
Impact Johnson had a season-high 10 carries for 33 yards last week, but his workload reverted to the 1-3 carry level the running back had in Weeks 8-10. With an unpredictable weekly work load, the veteran is largely a TD-dependent fantasy option. On the season, Johnson has scored six rushing touchdowns.

HIGHLIGHT: Roschon Johnson powers in for 1-yard TD Bears running back Roschon Johnson finds the end zone from one yard out to open the scoring.
NOVEMBER 24, 2024 • CHICAGOBEARS.COM
Finds end zone Johnson rushed 10 times for 33 yards and a touchdown while adding an eight-yard catch in the Bears' 20-19 loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Impact In Chicago's first game with new offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, the Bears emphasized the rushing attack by giving Johnson 10 of 24 running back carries. Coming into this game, Johnson had just 11 carries over his prior four games. If this usage pattern continues, Johnson's fantasy value will quickly rise.
NOVEMBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
HIGHLIGHT: Roschon Johnson rushes for a 1-yard touchdown Running back Roschon Johnson gives the Bears the lead with a 1-yard touchdown plunge.
NOVEMBER 17, 2024 • CHICAGOBEARS.COM
Slight usage in defeat Johnson lost four yards on one rush and caught a five-yard pass in the Bears' 19-3 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
Impact In the three games since Chicago's bye week, Johnson has handled nine touches for 28 yards and a touchdown. Unless the running back's role increases, Johnson will be difficult to trust in fantasy lineups.
NOVEMBER 11, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Five touches in defeat Johnson rushed three times for 13 yards and caught three passes for eight yards in the Bears' 29-9 loss to the Cardinals on Sunday.
Impact After averaging 10 touches between Weeks 3 and 5, Johnson's role has been scaled back. In the last three games, the running back has handled a total of 12 touches for 60 yards and one touchdown. Johnson is likely to function in a low-volume role as long as D'Andre Swift continues to play well.
NOVEMBER 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Finds end zone in defeat Johnson rushed two times for six yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 18-15 loss to the Commanders on Sunday.
Impact Johnson posted between 25 and 30 yards in Weeks 3 through 5. However, the veteran has rushed 7 times for 14 yards over Chicago's last two games. With D'Andre Swift playing at a high level, Johnson may have limited touches going forward.
OCTOBER 28, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Finds end zone in defeat Johnson rushed two times for six yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 18-15 loss to the Commanders on Sunday.
Impact Johnson posted between 25 and 30 yards in Weeks 3 through 5. However, the veteran has rushed seven times for 14 yards over Chicago's last two games. With D'Andre Swift playing at a high level, Johnson may have limited touches going forward.

OCTOBER 28, 2024 • CHICAGOBEARS.COM
Inefficient as runner in victory Johnson rushed five times for eight yards and caught two passes for 25 yards in the Bears' 35-16 win over the Jaguars on Sunday.
Impact Johnson has handled between seven and 10 touches in each of the last three games. The running back has not rushed for four yards per carry in any game this season. Johnson will remain a TD-dependent fantasy option unless his role increases.
OCTOBER 13, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
HIGHLIGHT: Roschon Johnson tips football to himself for one-handed catch on third down Bears running back Roschon Johnson tips football to himself for a one-handed catch and a first down.
OCTOBER 13, 2024 • CHICAGOBEARS.COM
Scores twice in victory Johnson rushed 10 times for 25 yards and two touchdowns in the Bears' 36-10 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Impact Johnson has been the clear change-of-pace runner behind D'Andre Swift since Week 3. During that time, the running back is averaging 10 touches, 34 yards and a touchdown. Although the yardage has been ordinary, the goal-line usage gives Johnson added fantasy value. If Swift happened to miss time, Johnson would likely see further expansion of his role in the offense.
OCTOBER 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
HIGHLIGHT: Roschon Johnson scores second TD of game Bears running back Roschon Johnson finds the end zone for the second time in the game.
OCTOBER 6, 2024 • CHICAGOBEARS.COM
HIGHLIGHT: Roschon Johnson rushes for a 1-yard TD Bears running back Roschon Johnson powers for a 1-yard touchdown run.
OCTOBER 6, 2024 • CHICAGOBEARS.COM
Finds end zone in victory Johnson rushed seven times for 26 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 24-18 win over the Rams on Sunday.
Impact After impressing in his first action of the year in Week 3, Johnson served as the clear No. 2 running back behind D'Andre Swift this week. With Swift having his best game of the season, Johnson may not push Swift for the lead role right now. However, Johnson may have done enough to retain change-of-pace duties with possible goal-line opportunities.
