Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters returns to practice
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters has returned to practice

Waived by Cleveland
The Browns waived Jackson (illness) on Tuesday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Jackson had been dealing with an illness that did not appear to be COVID-19-related for the past three weeks. While his release isn't directly related to his illness, the missed time certainly didn't help his case to make the roster. If he clears waivers it is possible the Browns will elect to sign him to their practice squad.

Absent with illness
Jackson didn't practice Tuesday due to an illness, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Impact
Jackson's illness doesn't appear to be related to COVID-19, but he was still forced to miss at least one day of practice. When the 27-year-old returns to full health, he should serve as depth in Cleveland's secondary this season.

Back with Browns
The Browns re-signed Jackson (hamstring) on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
Jackson was waived by the Browns earlier this month after having appeared in 10 regular-season games in 2020, before a hamstring issue caused him to hit IR. Now presumably back to full health, Jackson will return to Cleveland as a quality depth option. He's also proficient on special teams.

Cut by Cleveland
The Browns waived Jackson (hamstring) on Thursday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Jackson appeared in 10 regular-season games with the Browns in 2020 before landing on IR due to a hamstring injury in the playoffs. During that span, Jackson notched six tackles and one pass breakup and he also got his first career start against the Steelers in Week 17. Once back to full health, Jackson will look to earn a depth roster spot elsewhere in the league.

Goes to IR
Jackson (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.
Impact
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Jackson was simply day-to-day, but now he'll be unavailable until the Super Bowl. The second-year cornerback out of UNLV made his first career start in the wild-card win over the Steelers, but he was simply going to be depth for the rest of playoffs as long as Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson returned from the reserve/COVID-19 list as planned.

Deemed day-to-day
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Jackson (hamstring) is considered day-to-day, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Impact
Jackson made his first career start in Sunday's wild-card win over the Steelers, but he exited after 77 snaps. It appears the injury is minor, although he'll be closely monitored through the practice week. Even if he's able to shake the injury, both Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson have a good chance to return from the reserve/COVID-19 list for Sunday's AFC divisional-round matchup against the Chiefs.

Draws first career start
Jackson will make his first career start Sunday against Pittsburgh, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact
Jackson has seen almost all his reps this season on special teams, but he'll ultimately be the next man up with Denzel Ward on the COVID list. He's only seen six snaps on defense this year, but he and opposite-side corner Terrance Mitchell will be the first line of defense against Mason Rudolph and the Pittsburgh passing attack.

Elevates to 53-man roster
The Browns promoted Jackson from their practice squad Thursday.
Impact
The UNLV product joined the 53-man roster just in time to make an appearance in Thursday night's game against the Bengals. Jackson will add depth in the secondary for the club, as he's supplied four solo tackles across seven appearances for the Browns the past two seasons.

Fine following injury scare
Jackson (finger) wasn't listed on Monday's injury report, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Impact
Jackson exited this past Sunday's loss to the Ravens due to a finger injury, but he'll be ready to go for Week 2's matchup versus the Bengals on Thursday. Before exiting the season opener, Jackson played strictly on special teams.
