Waived by Cleveland The Browns waived Jackson (illness) on Tuesday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

Impact Jackson had been dealing with an illness that did not appear to be COVID-19-related for the past three weeks. While his release isn't directly related to his illness, the missed time certainly didn't help his case to make the roster. If he clears waivers it is possible the Browns will elect to sign him to their practice squad.

Impact Jackson's illness doesn't appear to be related to COVID-19, but he was still forced to miss at least one day of practice. When the 27-year-old returns to full health, he should serve as depth in Cleveland's secondary this season.

The second-year cornerback out of UNLV made his first career start in the wild-card win over the Steelers, but he was simply going to be depth for the rest of playoffs as long as Denzel Ward and Kevin Johnson returned from the reserve/COVID-19 list as planned.
