Placed on injured reserve The Giants placed Adebo (knee) on injured reserve Friday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Impact Adebo suffered a significant knee injury during last Sunday's win over the Cowboys. The cornerback made three solo tackles on 10 defensive snaps before exiting the game. The 27-year-old will now need to miss at least four games before he is eligible to return from IR. The Giants signed cornerback Nikko Reed to the active roster from the Chargers' practice squad in a corresponding move.

Not listed on injury report Adebo (hamstring) was not listed on the Giants' injury report Wednesday.

Impact Adebo was working through a hamstring issue during training camp, but his absence from the Giants' injury report following Wednesday's practice indicates that he'll play in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Cowboys. Adebo is entering the second year of a three-year, $54 million contract that he signed with the Giants in March of 2025, though he may be limited to a rotational role in the secondary behind fellow outside corners Greg Newsome and Deonte Banks. Adebo recorded 73 tackles (56 solo) and eight pass defenses (including an interception) across 12 regular-season games last year.

Giants' $54 million Paulson Adebo gamble somehow looks even worse The New York Giants know they messed up signing Paulson Adebo now more than ever before.

SEPTEMBER 9 • GMENHQ.COM

Won't play Saturday Adebo (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Impact It is unclear where Adebo picked up a hamstring issue, but the issue will likely keep the cornerback out for at least another week. Adebo is set to start at outside cornerback opposite Greg Newsome (knee). Both starters are dealing with injuries, so the Giants will likely lean on Deonte Banks and Colton Hood throughout the preseason.

The Top Offseason Goal for Every NFL Team That Missed the Playoffs

Logs 12 games in first year in NY Adebo posted 73 tackles and eight defensed passes (including an interception) over 12 contests during the 2025-26 season.

Impact Adebo joined the Giants during the offseason and started all 12 games in which he appeared. However, the Stanford product missed five games due to a knee injury, and he's played in just 19 contests over the past two campaigns. Adebo did record the second-highest tackle total of his career, but he had his fewest interceptions since 2022. He should be back as one of New York's starting cornerbacks in what will be the second campaign of his three-year contract next season.

Impact Adebo had been sidelined for the past five games with a sprained MCL and struggled in his return, as Drake Maye completed nine of his 11 pass attempts for 95 yards and a touchdown when targeting him. However, Adebo did manage to rack up double-digit tackles for the second time this season. The 26-year-old will look to have a bounce-back performance Week 15 versus Washington following the team's upcoming bye.
