Oscar Delp - NFL News, Rumors, & Updates

Held to just one catch in Week 2 Delp gathered in his only target for eight yards during Sunday's 24-17 victory over the Ravens.

Impact Delp didn't suit up for the 31-30 overtime loss to Detroit in Week 1 due to a hamstring issue, though he was on the field for Sunday's 24-17 upset win over Baltimore. However, despite the rookie's availability in Week 2, he appeared in just nine of the Saints' 68 offensive snaps, catching his only target for eight yards, while logging six snaps on special teams. Although Delp could see more action moving ahead, it doesn't appear as if he will be more involved than Noah Fant and Juwan Johnson anytime soon.

No injury designation for Week 2 Delp (hamstring) doesn't carry an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Impact Delp has been battling a hamstring injury, keeping him off the field for the 31-30 overtime loss to the Lions in Week 1. He was limited during Wednesday and Thursday's practices, though after logging a full session Friday, he now has the green light to suit up for the Week 2 meeting with Baltimore. While it's unknown how much action Delp will see against the Ravens, he could be more involved than Noah Fant behind Juwan Johnson (illness).

Limited again Delp (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day Thursday.

Impact The tight end has been dealing with the hamstring issue since August and had to miss the Saints' Week 1 loss to the Lions. Delp had to miss practices last week, though, so he is at least trending in the right direction. The third-round pick in April's draft is still trying to make his regular-season NFL debut.

Opens Week 2 prep with limited practice Delp (hamstring) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Impact Delp has been working through a hamstring injury since late August, which prevented him from playing in the Saints' 31-30 overtime loss to the Lions in Week 1. His return to practice, albeit in a limited capacity, is a good sign, and the rookie third-rounder will have two more chances to log a full session and avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's road tilt against the Ravens.

SEPTEMBER 16 • ROTOWIRE

Out for Week 1 Delp (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Impact Delp didn't practice at all this week after initially suffering the injury last month. The third-round rookie will have to wait to make his regular-season debut. Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant will handle tight-end duties for New Orleans.

SEPTEMBER 11 • ROTOWIRE

Still not practicing Thursday Delp (hamstring) did not participate at practice Thursday.

Impact Delp has been nursing a nagging hamstring injury since late August, and his availability for Week 1 is in serious doubt at this point. Unless he makes a showing at practice Friday, it's not likely he'll play Sunday at Detroit.

SEPTEMBER 10 • ROTOWIRE

Absent on Wednesday Delp (hamstring) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.

Impact Delp likely sustained his injury during the Saints' second preseason game against the Rams. The tight end has not practiced since sustaining the injury and will likely not be capable of suiting up for the Week 1 contest against the Lions. If Delp can quickly increase his practice participation before Friday, he could change his fate, but it seems unlikely as of now.

SEPTEMBER 9 • ROTOWIRE

Dealing with hamstring injury Delp is nursing a hamstring injury at training camp with the Saints, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Delp has caught three of six targets for 10 yards and a touchdown over the Saints' two preseason games this year, though all of that production came in the team's preseason opener. The 23-year-old was selected in the third round of this year's draft, and he's competing with veteran Noah Fant for the top reserve role at tight end behind Juwan Johnson this year. It's unclear what the severity of his injury is, but he'll have a couple of chances to shake off the injury at practice before Friday's preseason finale versus Dallas.

Finds end zone in preseason opener Delp caught three of six targets for 10 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason loss to Jacksonville.

Impact Delp's touchdown came on a pass from Zach Wilson on a play from the 1-yard line. It wasn't all roses for the rookie tight end, however, as he also had multiple drops. Delp is looking to cement a spot as the Saints' No. 3 tight end behind Juwan Johnson and Noah Fant, and his TD should help his case despite the uneven performance.
