Signs with Miami The Dolphins signed McCloud to a contract Monday.

Impact McCloud showed out as a reserve defensive back for the Packers in 2025, so it's no surprise he earned a contract with the Dolphins. The cornerback recorded 27 total tackles (18 solo) and two passes defensed over 15 regular-season games in 2025. The Dolphins are low on depth due to the injuries to Storm Duck (knee), Darrell Baker (undisclosed), Lonnie Johnson (leg), Omar Brown (undisclosed) and Juju Brents (undisclosed). McCloud has a strong opportunity to compete for a 53-man roster spot throughout the preseason.

AUGUST 11 • ROTOWIRE

Impresses in reserve role McCloud (groin) recorded 27 total tackles (18 solo) and two passes defensed over 15 regular-season games in 2025.

Impact The 27-year-old from Notre Dame sustained a groin injury in Chicago's wild-card win over the Packers that held him out of the divisional-round loss to the Rams. McCloud emerged as one of the Bears' top reserve corners, making four starts while filling in for the injured Kyler Gordon during the regular season. He played 431 defensive snaps after totaling just 214 defensive snaps across 15 appearances with the Giants and 49ers in 2024. McCloud signed a one-year deal with the Bears in March of last year, making him an unrestricted free agent this offseason. He's expected to find work as a reserve corner and special-teams contributor ahead of the 2026 season.

Won't play in divisional round McCloud (groin) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's divisional-round matchup against the Rams.

Impact McCloud didn't practice all week with an apparent groin injury, so it's no surprise he won't play in Sunday's playoff contest. While the Notre Dame product is sidelined, expect C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Josh Blackwell to operate as the Bears' top slot corners during the divisional round.

JANUARY 16 • ROTOWIRE

Dealing with groin injury McCloud (groin) was estimated as a non-participant for Chicago's walkthrough practice Wednesday.

Impact McCloud played 20 defensive snaps in Chicago's wild card victory versus the Packers, but now his status for the Divisional Round is in jeopardy due to a groin injury. He'll probably have to practice in some capacity Thursday or Friday to give himself a chance to play Sunday versus the Rams.

Impact McCloud missed Chicago's final two games of the regular season due to an illness, but it looks like he's fully on track to return for Saturday's wild-card round matchup against the Packers. Won't play vs. Detroit McCloud (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Lions.

Impact McCloud was unable to shake off an illness in time for Week 18 and will end up missing the final two games of the regular season. Josh Blackwell, Tyrique Stevenson and Jaylon Jones are in line for more rotational snaps in the secondary in McCloud's absence.

JANUARY 4 • ROTOWIRE

Questionable for Sunday McCloud (illness) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions.

Impact McCloud logged limited practices throughout Week 17 as he has battled a persistent illness. The cornerback's ability to practice through the issue is a strong sign that he will be able to suit up for Sunday's contest. If the sickness proves too much for the 27-year-old, Tyrique Stevenson or Jaylon Jones will likely be the backup slot cornerback behind C.J. Gardner-Johnson for Sunday.

JANUARY 2 • ROTOWIRE

Still battling illness McCloud (illness) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Impact McCloud was unable to shake off an illness in time to be available for the Bears' Week 17 loss to the 49ers. He's still under the weather, but he'll have two more chances to increase his practice participation and likely fade an injury designation ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale against the Lions.
