Earns future deal
The Bengals signed Bowers to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.
Impact
Bowers spent the entire regular season on the Bengals' practice squad. He was elevated for the first time during Cincinnati's divisional-round win over Buffalo, but he didn't play any snaps. With his new contract, the undrafted tight end out of Penn State will get to stick around the organization and have a chance to compete for a larger role next season.

Moves back to practice squad
Bowers reverted to the Bengals' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Impact
Bowers has spent the entire season on the practice squad and was elevated for the first time ahead of Sunday's divisional-round win over Buffalo. The 26-year-old tight end ultimately was ruled inactive, and he's unlikely to see any action in this coming Sunday's AFC Championship Game at Kansas City, barring any injuries to the tight ends on Cincinnati's active roster. Bowers still has yet to record a catch in his career.

Joining active roster for Sunday
Cincinnati elevated Bowers from its practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's divisional-round matchup at Buffalo, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact
Bowers has yet to play a snap this season after joining the Bengals' practice squad back in September. The 26-year-old tight end would probably see the field only if one of Hayden Hurst, Mitchell Wilcox or Devin Asiasi were to get injured.

Signs new contract
Bowers signed a one-year contract with the Raiders on Monday.
Impact
Bowers joined the Raiders in 2020 as an undrafted free agent out of Penn State. After spending that season on the practice squad, he made his NFL debut in 2021 in Week 5 against the Bears. Appearing in a total of five contests, Bowers accumulated 39 offensive snaps but never saw a target. He'll work to carve out a bigger role with the Raiders in 2022.

Activated from IR
Bowers (neck) has been activated from IR in advance of Monday's game against the Browns.
Impact
With Darren Waller (knee/back) unavailable for the contest, Bowers will give the Raiders some added Week 15 tight end depth behind Foster Moreau and Daniel Helm. Prior to landing in IR in October, Bowers had seen most of his snaps on special teams.

Designated to return from IR
Bowers (neck) was designated to return from injured reserve Tuesday.
Impact
The tight end has been on IR since Oct. 23, but the team will now have 21 days to either activate him or leave him inactive for the rest of the season. When active, Bowers operates mainly as a special teams option, and has failed to record a target on six offensives snaps in two games this year.

Placed on IR
The Raiders placed Bowers (neck) on injured reserve Saturday.
Impact
Bowers didn't practice at all this week and had previously been ruled out for Week 7, but he will now be sidelined for at least three weeks with his move to IR. The 25-year-old was replaced on the active roster by Matt Bushman, who will likely slide into Bowers' special teams duties for the foreseeable future.

Won't play Week 7
Bowers (neck) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with the Eagles, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Bowers didn't practice at all this week, so his status for Sunday shouldn't come as a surprise. The 25-year-old tight end has played mainly special teams during the two contests he has been active, so his absence shouldn't affect the Raiders' offensive rotations.

Cleared from COVID list
The Raiders activated Bowers from the practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact
Bowers had resided on the list since Dec. 3, so the fact that he's been cleared from the virus is a positive sign. Bowers will continue to develop on the practice squad, as he's yet to make an appearance in game action during his NFL career.

Moves to practice squad COVID list
Bowers was placed on the Raiders' practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Impact
The undrafted rookie out of Penn State has yet to see any in-game action, though the Raiders have, at least, remained steadfast in keeping Bowers on the roster since signing him in April. This latest development gets him no closer to an appearance, as he'll now have to be away from the team until able to clear league protocols.

Heads to practice squad
The Raiders signed Bowers to the practice squad Sunday, Tadd Haislop of SportingNews.com reports.
Impact
Bowers spent the offseason in Las Vegas, but he wasn't able to parley his way into a depth role at tight end. The undrafted rookie out of Penn State will instead get a chance to further his development on the practice squad.
