Impact Pruitt was elevated to the active roster for the first time with starting tight end Kyle Pitts (hamstring) sidelined against the Buccaneers on Sunday. As a result, the ninth-year veteran played 12 of Atlanta's 66 offensive snaps behind Parker Hesse (41 snaps) and Anthony Firkser (15 snaps). Pruitt did not receive a target during Sunday's loss, and he will now be eligible for two more elevations while on the Falcons' practice squad this season.

Impact Pruitt saw double-digit targets for just the third time in his eight-year career in 2021, turning those 18 looks into a career-high 14 receptions for 145 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. The bad news, though, is that he's joining a tight-end room that's a bit crowded after former quarterback Feleipe Franks made a switch to the position in June. Pruitt will contend with Franks for opportunities behind Kyle Pitts and Anthony Firkser during training camp, but he'll need to make a good impression quickly to snag a spot on the Falcons' initial 53-man roster.

Impact Pruitt suffered a severe ankle injury in Week 16, which cut short his most productive season as a pro. His best performance came early in Week 2 against Seattle, when he tallied three receptions for 43 yards. However, even prior to suffering the ankle injury his production had slowed, as he had failed to record multiple receptions in each of his final eight games. Pruitt will hit free agency at the close of the season and is likely to serve a depth role regardless of where he lands for the 2022 campaign.
