Signs reserve/future deal Weber has inked a reserve/future contract with the Packers.

Impact Weber joined the Packers' practice squad in November after Dexter Williams suffered a knee injury. He was elevated to the active roster Week 11 but never saw the field. The 23-year-old now will look to make an impression in Green Bay this offseason.

Moves back to practice squad Weber reverted to the Packers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Impact The Ohio State product was called up to the active roster Saturday with AJ Dillon remaining on the reserve/COVID-19 list and Tyler Ervin (wrist/ribs) inactive for Week 12 due to an injury. Weber did not ultimately see any game action during Sunday night's 41-25 win over Chicago, and he remains without a regular-season appearance since entering the NFL in 2019.

Elevates to active roster The Packers elevated Weber to the active roster Saturday.

Impact AJ Dillon is still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and Tyler Ervin (ribs) is considered questionable for Sunday night's game against the Bears. Weber will add depth in the backfield behind Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams. His elevation signals that Ervin may be trending in the wrong direction, but Weber doesn't figure to play much if Ervin is active.

Impact The Packers needed depth at running back following news that Dexter Williams suffered a sprained MCL in last week's win over the 49ers. They chose Weber to replace him. The second-year running back out of Ohio State has yet to make his NFL debut, but he'll get a chance to fine-tune his skills on Green Bay's scout team.
