INJURIES

Let go by Washington Strachan was released by the Commanders on Thursday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
Impact Strachan has appeared in 23 regular-season games split between the Colts and Panthers, but he didn't play a single regular-season snap in 2024 and won't get a chance to suit up with Washington in 2025. The 28-year-old wide receiver will hope to get an opportunity with another NFL team during the preseason.
AUGUST 14 • ROTOWIRE
Sticking with Washington The Commanders signed Strachan to a reserve/future contract Friday.
Impact Strachan will get an opportunity to continue his development with Washington this offseason, though his contract makes him ineligible to contribute during the team's postseason run. That means Strachan won't be a candidate to suit up for Saturday's road divisional-round matchup against the Lions on Saturday.
JANUARY 17 • ROTOWIRE
Cut by Washington The Commanders released Strachan from the practice squad Friday.
Impact Washington needed Strachan's roster spot for kicker Greg Joseph. Strachan has bounced off and on the practice squad with the Commanders this season, but he's yet to appear in a regular-season contest since last year with Carolina.
DECEMBER 13, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Lands with Washington The Commanders signed Strachan to their practice squad Tuesday.
Impact Strachan is back with Washington after spending a couple weeks with the organization prior to being let go earlier in November. He's yet to play in a game this season and has a career 6-130-0 receiving line on 15 targets across 23 contests.
NOVEMBER 19, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Gets let go Strachan was cut from the Commanders' practice squad Wednesday.
Impact Strachan failed to make the Colts' 53-man roster out of training camp and ultimately linked up with Washington in October. In a corresponding move, the Commanders signed Efe Obada to their practice squad.
NOVEMBER 6, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Signs with practice squad Strachan signed with the Commanders' practice squad Tuesday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.
Impact The wide receiver was waived by the Panthers in August after playing on 54 preseason snaps and catching one pass. Strachan has six catches for 130 yards and no touchdowns in 23 regular-season games across three seasons. The 2021 seventh-round pick's last catch came in 2023.
OCTOBER 22, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Out in Carolina The Panthers waived Strachan on Tuesday.
Impact Strachan played 54 preseason snaps for the Panthers but finished with just one catch for seven yards. He appeared in four games for Carolina last season, catching one 45-yard pass on three targets. Strachan has six career grabs for 130 yards and recently turned 27 years old.
AUGUST 27, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Healthy scratch Sunday Strachan (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Packers.
Impact Strachan will be a healthy scratch for the second straight week as the Panthers will choose to dress just four wide receivers for Week 16. The Charleston product has just one catch on three targets for 45 yards in his four games with the Panthers this season.
DECEMBER 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Will not play Strachan (coach's decision) will not play in Sunday's matchup with the Falcons, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official website reports.
Impact Strachan made his debut on the active roster in Week 10 and subsequently played four out of five weeks. His absence Sunday indicates Carolina is comfortable going with thinner depth at wide receiver in favor of more depth somewhere else on the roster.
DECEMBER 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Joins active roster Carolina signed Strachan to its active roster Friday.
Impact Strachan has bounced back and forth between the Panthers' active roster and practice squad this season, and he's appeared in two games thus far. In those appearances, the third-year wideout was able to catch one of his two targets for 45 yards. Strachan's signing is likely in response to Laviska Shenault (ankle) shifting to injured reserve Thursday.
DECEMBER 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Elevated ahead of Week 11 The Panthers elevated Strachan from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Impact Strachan will be active on gameday for the second straight week after catching one of two targets for 45 yards against the Bears in Week 10. The third-year wideout has shown a penchant for big plays in his limited NFL action, as three of his six career catches have gone for 20-plus yards. Strachan is unlikely to see enough snaps against the Cowboys on Sunday to be a fantasy target, however.

No targets in season finale Strachan did not have a target and played just three snaps on offense during Sunday's 32-31 loss versus Houston.
Impact Strachan got one target the week before with Ashton Dulin out due to a concussion, but he barely got on the field when he returned for the finale. Strachan had just three receptions for 59 yards on nine targets during the season. The 2021 seventh-rounder will likely be in a battle to retain a roster spot for 2023.
JANUARY 10, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Cleared for Monday Strachan (concussion) is good to go for Monday's matchup with the Chargers.
Impact Strachan will return from a one-game absence after suffering a concussion in Week 14. Look for him to resume his usual role as the Colts' No. 5 wide receiver assuming he avoids any setbacks.
DECEMBER 24, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Logs full practice Thursday Strachan (concussion) was listed as a full participant on the Colts' injury report Thursday.
Impact Strachan popped up with a concussion on Indianapolis' injury report last Wednesday, which left him sidelined for Saturday's loss to the Vikings. It's still if the 25-year-old was able to clear the league's protocols before returning to practice in full Thursday, so his status is still up in the air for Monday Night Football versus the Chargers. Strachan has not hauled in a target since Week 2, so his availability doesn't figure to play much of a factor in the Colts offense.
DECEMBER 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Won't play Saturday Strachan (concussion) has been ruled out for Saturday's game with the Vikings, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Impact Strachan didn't show up on the team's injury report until Wednesday, so it appears he may have suffered the concussion during practice Tuesday. With the Colts on a short week, and the lateness of his addition to the injury report, Strachan would have been hard pressed to clear protocols ahead of Saturday's contest. His next opportunity to suit up will be Week 16 against the Chargers.
DECEMBER 15, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Doesn't practice Wednesday Strachan didn't practice Wednesday due to a concussion.
Impact After not being listed on the initial injury report Tuesday, Strachan landed on the list Wednesday as a non-participant due to a concussion. He'll have just one more opportunity to clear protocols before the Colts have to make a decision on his status for Saturday's matchup against Minnesota.

In game of emotions, North Attleborough coach Mike Strachan guides team to Thanksgiving win over Attleboro, his former team - The Boston Globe Strachan, a Rocketeer alumnus, coached the Bombardiers since 2013 before replacing Don Johnson this season at North Attleborough.
NOVEMBER 24, 2022 • BOSTONGLOBE.COM
Inactive for second straight game Strachan (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's matchup against the Eagles, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.
Impact Strachan finds himself as a healthy scratch for a second straight game after appearing in the team's first nine games of the season. Michael Pittman, Parris Campbell, Alec Pierce, Ashton Dulin and Keke Coutee will be the only active wideouts for the Colts on Sunday.
NOVEMBER 20, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
No receptions despite larger role Strachan didn't have a reception on two targets in Sunday's win over Jacksonville.
Impact Strachan played 19 snaps on offense and went out for 13 routes, but he wasn't much of a factor. He's getting some playing time as the fourth receiver with Ashton Dulin on injured reserve with a foot injury, but it doesn't look like Strachan will be a big part of the game plan.
OCTOBER 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Small role Sunday Strachan did not have a target or reception while playing just six snaps on offense in Sunday's win over Kansas City.
Impact Strachan is a distant fifth receiver in the offense and may not get much playing time unless there are several injuries. He had just three targets last week when both Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce were out with injuries, so that doesn't bode well for any future meaningful role.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Only one catch with larger role Strachan had one reception for 23 yards on three targets in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville. He also drew a flag for an illegal shift/false start.
Impact Strachan was the primary third receiver with Michael Pittman (quadriceps) and Alec Pierce (concussion) hurt and played on 35 of the offense's 50 snaps. However, Strachan struggled to get open, and the bad penalty may hurt his chances if the Colts decide to revamp the game plan for the receiving corps after a very poor performance where the offense did not score.
