Waived Saturday
Davis was waived by the Ravens on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact
The veteran was a healthy inactive each of the past two weeks, and he had compiled just four total offensive snaps since Week 7, so this decision is hardly surprising. With J.K. Dobbins (knee) expected to be activated off injured reserve Saturday, the Ravens will be the healthiest they've been all season at running back, although the offense will likely still be limited with Lamar Jackson (knee) doubtful for Sunday's contest against the Steelers.

Healthy scratch Sunday
Davis (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Jaguars.
Impact
Davis has played a minimal role for the Ravens this season and has yet to carve out any kind of consistent role with the team. He'll now work to earn a chance to play Week 13 against the Broncos.

Makes little impact
Davis caught his only target for seven yards in the Ravens' 27-13 win over the Saints on Monday.
Impact
Davis saw just three snaps on offense with Gus Edwards out due to a hamstring injury. The veteran running back has yet to make an impact in Baltimore, having not played double-digit snaps since Week 2, despite J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill all missing time due to various injuries throughout the season.

Inactive Sunday
Davis is inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns.
Impact
With Gus Edwards off the PUP list and back in the mix Sunday along with Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill, Davis is the odd man out in the Ravens' backfield for now.

ROTOWIRE
Minimal role Sunday
Davis had one carry for three yards Sunday against the Bengals.
Impact
Even with Justice Hill (hamstring) sidelined, Davis did not see much of a role increase as he played just five offensive snaps while Kenyan Drake assumed the No. 2 role behind J.K. Dobbins. Davis is mired in the No. 3 role at best, and it could diminish further upon Hill's return. Wide receiver Devin Duvernay even had more rushing work than Davis and was more effective on his carries. Baltimore hits the road to face the Giants in Week 6.

Sees one snap against Patriots
Davis played one offensive snap Sunday against the Patriots and did not record any other statistics.
Impact
Though Davis remained active despite the return of J.K. Dobbins, he was not involved in the game plan, as Justice Hill assumed the No. 2 role in the backfield. Davis played 18 snaps Week 2 after seeing six snaps in the opener. With Hill rushing for 60 yards on six carries and Dobbins projecting to see more work moving forward, those who speculated on Davis carving out a role in this offense may want to look elsewhere.

Minimal production against Dolphins
Davis had five carries for four yards and was not targeted in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.
Impact
The veteran nearly matched the team lead in carries among running backs but that rings hollow when he averaged less than one yard per carry and the top back, Justice Hill, rushed for 16 yards. His snap count increased from six to 18 but that could come back down if J.K. Dobbins (knee) returns in Week 3. Even if Dobbins remains out, Davis does not seem to be primed for a fantasy-relevant role.

Returns from undisclosed injury
Davis (undisclosed) returned from a minor injury to record six carries for 18 yards and caught his lone target for five yards in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Cardinals.
Impact
Davis suffered an undisclosed injury during practice earlier this week, but his availability in an exhibition game proves he is over what ailed him. The veteran journeyman's presence in Sunday's contest also proves how dire the situation at running back could be in Baltimore to start the season, with both J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee) at risk of not being ready for Week 1. The 29-year-old may find himself in another advantageous starting situation -- similar to his time in Atlanta to begin last season -- and he did receive the first carry out of any of the remaining healthy backs. The younger and more-explosive Justice Hill (one carry for eight yards) also could get in the mix for snaps should either of Dobbins or Edwards miss time during the regular season.

Gets dinged up at practice
Davis suffered a minor undisclosed injury during Sunday's practice, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
Per Hensley, Davis appeared to walk off a stinger towards the end of practice, but the veteran didn't take another rep the rest of the day. On the bright side, he didn't seek help from a trainer or leave the field early, so he appears to be dealing with a minor issue. Regardless, his status should still be monitored ahead of next Sunday's exhibition game against the Cardinals as he currently stands as the top backup behind J.K. Dobbins (knee), who's been activated off PUP but remains limited during practices.

Starts and scores
Davis took five carries for 22 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason win over the Titans.
Impact
Davis was the first back through the rotation, as would be expected with J.K. Dobbins (ACL) not yet cleared for contact and Gus Edwards (ACL) still on the PUP list. Dobbins seems to be on track for Week 1, but Edwards doesn't, which means at least one of the Ravens' other backs is likely to get some snaps and touches in the opener. Davis is the most experienced among them and has been getting the most reps in camp with the first-team offense, and the solid showing Thursday night certainly won't hurt his chances. He mostly worked between the tackles, but his TD came from four yards out on his fifth and final carry of the night, capping off Baltimore's second drive. After that, the Ravens turned to Justice Hill, followed by Tyler Badie mixing in for a two-minute drill. After halftime, it was mostly Badie (a fifth-round rookie) and Nate McCrary (a 2021 UDFA) getting the backfield snaps, along with veteran Corey Clement.

Finds home in Baltimore
Davis signed a one-year contract with the Ravens on Tuesday.
Impact
Baltimore explored signing other free agent running backs earlier this offseason, but the team passed on those options and only brought in rookie sixth-round pick Tyler Badie via the 2022 NFL Draft. Davis' arrival provides the Ravens with a proven veteran option while J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Gus Edwards (knee) work their way back from ACL tears. Davis was outplayed by Cordarrelle Patterson with the Falcons last season, but perhaps Baltimore's scheme will give the 29-year-old better opportunities for success. Back in 2020 with the Panthers, he racked up 1,015 scrimmage yards and eight total touchdowns in 15 games.
