Placed on IR The Jets placed Mitchell (knee) on injured reserve Saturday.

Impact Mitchell was carted off the field during the team's Week 4 win over the Steelers due to a knee injury and will now be forced to miss at least four games after landing on injured reserve. The Jets are expected to get Duane Brown back from IR in Week 5, so he'll take over as the starting left tackle while Conor McDermott mans the right side moving forward.

Officially ruled out Mitchell (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Coach Robert Saleh took a pessimistic tone when discussing Mitchell's ability to suit up for the Jets' Week 5 matchup earlier in the week, and he's now been officially ruled out. The team is shorthanded at both tackle spots, though Conor McDermott and Cedric Ogbuehi are likely to start.

Likely out for Week 5 Mitchell (knee) is not expected to suit up for Sunday's Week 5 matchup with the Dolphins, Ethan B. Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.

Impact Head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday that Mitchell is "probably out" for Week 5 while he nurses the knee injury he suffered versus the Steelers in Week 4. Cedric Ogbuehi appears likely to start in his place if Mitchell is unavailable.

Leaves with injury Mitchell (undisclosed) was carted off the field Sunday against the Steelers, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.

Impact Mitchell has been the Jets' starting right tackle this season. The nature of his injury is still unknown, however, needing to be carted off the field is not a good sign for a quick return. While he is out, Grant Hermanns will likely man the right-tackle spot.
