INJURIES

Unlikely to play preseason opener Breida (undisclosed) was added to the injury report and is unlikely to play in Thursday's preseason opener versus the Patriots, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.
Impact Breida is dealing with an undisclosed injury, which will apparently likely keep him out of Thursday's contest. The 27-year-old signed with the Giants this offseason after he produced 125 rushing yards and touchdown on 26 carries while also catching seven passes for 72 yards and two scores over nine games with the Bills last year. Once healthy, the running back is expected to serve as a change of pace option behind starter Saquon Barkley in 2022.

Getting ample work with second team Breida has seen plenty of reps with the second team during training camp, Pat Lanni of NJ Advance Media reports.
Impact Breida was signed by the Giants in March after playing for three different teams over the past three campaigns. The 27-year-old averaged 4.8 yards per carry with Buffalo last season, but he got into only nine games. Saquon Barkley is in line to take on a workhorse role as long as he remains healthy, but there's not much in terms of depth behind him and Breida. As such, the latter would likely see significant usage should Barkley be hit with another injury.

Joining Giants' RB mix Breida agreed to a contract with the Giants on Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Breida will provide the Giants with some much-needed backfield depth behind Saquon Barkley following the team's release of Devontae Booker. In nine games with the Bills last season, the 27-year-old speedster carried 26 times for 125 yards and a TD and caught seven of his nine targets for 72 yards and a pair of receiving scores. For now, Breida's competitors for complementary work behind Barkley are Gary Brightwell and Antonio Williams.

Inactive for divisional round Breida (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against Kansas City.
Impact Breida will be a healthy scratch for the fourth time in the last five games. Devin Singletary and Zack Moss will handle Buffalo's backfield duties once again.

Sitting Saturday Breida (coach's decision) is inactive Saturday against the Patriots.

Healthy scratch against Patriots Breida will be a healthy scratch Week 16 against the Patriots.
Impact Breida was the only Buffalo running back other than Devin Singletary to receive a carry Week 15 against Carolina, but he was limited to just three offensive snaps and did not see a target in the passing game. Fellow running back Zack Moss was a healthy scratch for that contest, but Moss has managed to avoid the inactive list this week and will presumably taking on the backup role in Breida's stead.

Takes back seat to Singletary Breida rushed just once for one yard and was not targeted in the passing game in Sunday's 31-14 win over the Panthers.
Impact Even running maven Josh Allen gave way to Devin Singletary, who saw 22 carries for 86 yards and a score Sunday compared to just five carries for all other players. Breida has done well to go from the NFL scrap heap into a No. 2 role for a team with a good chance to make the playoffs, but he's yet to see double-digit carries in any game this season and hasn't eclipsed 51 rushing yards in any contest. The only way he can provide value for desperate managers is if he can sneak his way into the end zone, which he's done three times this season.
DECEMBER 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Set for No. 2 role Breida's teammate Zack Moss will be a healthy inactive for the third time in four weeks Sunday.
Impact Devin Singletary should lead the backfield in carries, not to mention the team has a running quarterback in Josh Allen, but expect Breida to be sprinkled into the offense both as an occasional runner and pass catcher. Perhaps a longshot touchdown in a game the Bills are heavily favored in would provide some assistance to those deeply desperate for running back points.

Modest role in Week 14 loss Breida carried three times for 12 yards and had no catches on one target in Sunday's overtime loss to the Buccaneers.
Impact Managers forced to use Breida had high hopes when Zack Moss was made a healthy inactive for the second time in three weeks, but Josh Allen ended up with five more carries than the combined total of Devin Singletary and Breida. The Buffalo running back situation is an all-out carousel, and at this point trying to pick one of the three ponies is futile. Singletary is the best bet of the three only because he has the largest role in the passing game, something the Bills rely on far more than the running game. Incredibly, no Buffalo running back had a single carry in the entire first half Sunday.
